Educators from Pará receive training for the use of digital technologies in the public education system
The initiative focused on training for the use of Chromebooks distributed to schools through the Conecta Educação Program, as well as deepening the use of Google's educational tools.

With the aim of promoting the improvement and technical-pedagogical update of teachers and managers in the state education network, who will act as multipliers in their regions, the State Department of Education (Seduc) held, this Tuesday (5), the Google Day, an event held in partnership with GetEdu and Google for Education. The initiative focused on training for the use of Chromebooks distributed to schools through the Conecta Educação Program, as well as deepening the use of Google's educational tools, strengthening the use of technology as an ally in the teaching and learning process.
The Google Day journey began in the capital of Pará, Belém, and will continue to four more hubs in the state: Bragança, Marabá, Breves, and finally, Santarém. Each meeting will be a day dedicated to the exchange of experiences, practical training, and inspiration, focusing on building a more connected, creative, and meaningful public education.
“The Google Days are events that mark the beginning of continuous training for teachers and students in the use of Chromebooks distributed by the Conecta Educação Program. In this initial phase, multipliers will be trained to support the training of teachers in all regions, focusing on the use of educational, media, and technological resources, especially the Chromebook. With the arrival of laptops to schools for the first time, the goal is to strengthen the use of digital platforms such as Google for Education and the Plural platform. The laptops will also enable important activities, such as simulated assessments, becoming essential tools for education throughout Pará this year,” said Jó Elder Vasconcelos, director of Technological Resources at Seduc.
Through practical workshops and moments of exchange, educators had the opportunity to explore the pedagogical potential of these resources, expanding their possibilities for use in the classroom.

“This type of initiative aimed at public schools is wonderful. I myself was a student in the public network and, in my time, we did not have access to resources like these, which enhance learning. Today, with technology increasingly present, knowledge goes beyond the classroom. Participating in a meeting like this is very important because it updates us, brings new ideas, and helps us improve our work with students,” highlights Walter Marques, Education Specialist at the Santa Bárbara Regional Education Directorate.
The program also addressed artificial intelligence, which can be a powerful ally in pedagogical planning and personalized learning.

“The Google Day aims to inspire by showing real applications of technology in education. It is not a traditional training, but promotes learning by presenting concrete practices. We seek to connect technology to the real world and its direct impact on students, offering pathways for educators to use resources strategically. We value the protagonism of teachers, their experiences, and stories. Moreover, it is important to break the myth that public schools do not have access to technology; often, they have even more resources than private networks. The essential thing is not to have the best equipment, but to know how to use what you have creatively,” emphasizes Wellington Maciel, director of Projects, Marketing, and Educational Affairs at GetEdu.
The Google Day is an event focused on promoting the development of digital skills, especially for educators, using the tools and resources of Google for Education. The event offers immersion in digital tools, active methodologies, and innovations, aiming to inspire and exchange experiences among participants. More than just an event, the Google Day represents the materialization of a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and the protagonism of educators in the digital transformation of public schools in Pará.
