Seduc receives delegation from Sweden and IDB to present innovation and sustainability projects from the state network
The visit is part of an institutional agenda aimed at presenting initiatives supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), with a special focus on sustainable actions in the capital of Pará.

To closely understand the educational projects executed by the Government of Pará, through the State Department of Education (Seduc), representatives from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) visited the Center for the Training of Education Professionals (Cefor), the Center for Innovation and Sustainability in Basic Education (Ciseb), and the headquarters of Seduc - where the Media Center of Education in Pará (Cemep) also operates, this Wednesday (2).
The visit is part of an institutional agenda aimed at presenting initiatives supported by the IDB, with a special focus on sustainable actions. The Swedish delegation — composed of Agnar Kjeller, Henric Hansson, and Per Anders Jansson, in addition to the IDB Vice President for Countries and Regional Integration, Manuel Pacheco — is evaluating possibilities for new financial contributions from the IDB, especially for credit operations aimed at projects with a socio-environmental bias. In Pará, the visitors closely learned about Seduc's experiences that have been developed with the bank's support.
“It is a great pleasure for the Government of the State of Pará, for the State Department of Education, to receive people from outside who want to know the excellent and good experiences we have in public education in the State, both here at Ciseb and at the Center for Training Professionals and Cemep. It is always a great honor to know that Pará has a public education of high quality, that we have made many advances in recent years, and that many people from other States, from other countries want to know our good experiences and share them. It is a great honor, certainly a source of pride for all Parans,” said the interim Secretary of State for Education (Seduc), Ricardo Sefer.

According to João Cossi, an education specialist from the IDB who is following the Pará project, the visit was very interesting and reinforced the work that has already been carried out. “I have had the opportunity to follow the State's work since 2019, and I have seen a significant investment from the State in technologies in schools. For example, Ciseb is a very significant differential for the policy being implemented in the State along with investments in technologies, which is yielding results. In addition, the State has invested in the Media Center to reach even more, especially the youth from the most isolated communities so that they have access to education,” emphasized the specialist.
According to him, new investments should be made. “All the effort from the State, which has been ongoing for many years, we have been supporting, and the State Government is expected to sign now, along with the IDB, a second investment program so that we can bring Cisebs to all administrative regions of the State and improve the technologies in schools. We are available and happy to be here,” said João Cossi.
“The visit from the Inter-American Development Bank and the Swedish delegation represents a very symbolic and strategic moment for our State. More than presenting structures or technologies, we are showing an educational policy committed to innovation, sustainability, and equity. For Ciseb, this is an opportunity to affirm that it is possible to provide quality education in the Amazon, with student protagonism, valuing teachers, and contextualized solutions for the challenges of our reality. We are honored to receive this visit and confident that what we are building here can inspire not only Brazil but the world,” highlighted the coordinator of Ciseb, Rafael Herdy.
