Government of Pará begins assembly of the superstructure of the new cable-stayed bridge between Icoaraci and Outeiro
The new bridge will reduce travel time between the two districts and will also bring positive impacts to the local economy

The Government of Pará has taken another important step towards the development of infrastructure and mobility in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. On the morning of this Friday (25), the launch of the first segment of the second bridge that will connect the districts of Icoaraci and Outeiro was held. This stage marks the beginning of the assembly of the superstructure of the cable-stayed section of the project, considered the starting point of this final phase of the undertaking.
The metal structure in question weighs around 100 tons and is essential to support the other structural elements. It was lifted by a crane and transported by a barge to its final position and installed precisely by the technical teams. This first segment is one of seven that will make up the cable-stayed section of the bridge.

Alongside the launch of the segment, the concreting of the first slab of the Icoaraci section also began, demonstrating the accelerated pace of the works, which continue to be executed intensively, with work fronts operating day and night.
With a length of 507 meters and a width of 11.60 meters, the central section of the new bridge will be supported by steel cables that form the cable-stayed structure. The innovative design will allow for two navigation spans of 135 meters each, ensuring the fluidity of waterway traffic and increasing the safety of the structure.
The State Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Adler Silveira, highlighted the positive impact of the project on the lives of the population. "The progress of the works on the cable-stayed bridge between Icoaraci and Outeiro is an important milestone for mobility and infrastructure in Belém. With 69% of the project completed, we can already observe the commitment of the teams to deliver a project that will make a difference in the lives of residents and in the development of the region. This bridge is not just a physical link between two districts, but a symbol of our commitment to providing more safety, accessibility, and quality of life for the population. We are working intensively to make this dream a reality within the established timeline," said the secretary.

The new bridge will reduce travel time between the two districts and will also bring positive impacts to the local economy, facilitating the transport of goods, strengthening regional commerce, and encouraging tourism.
The forecast is that the work will be completed on schedule, becoming another milestone of progress and integration for Belém and for the entire State.
