Uepa holds scientific fair in Salvaterra, Marajó
The event will take place this Thursday (27) and Friday (28), aiming to materialize projects and actions that stimulate critical reflection, innovation, and the applicability of scientific knowledge in everyday life.
The State University of Pará (Uepa) will promote, this Thursday (27) and Friday (28), the fourth edition of the Scientific Fair of the Municipality of Salvaterra (FeCMSal), in Marajó, aiming to materialize projects and actions that stimulate critical reflection, innovation, and the applicability of scientific knowledge in everyday life. During the event, works developed by students and teachers from Elementary, High School, or Technical High School, and other interested audiences will be presented. The IV FeCMSal will be held at E.M.E.F. Dom Pedro I, in Salvaterra, and entry will be free.
According to the professor from Campus XIX of Uepa – Salvaterra and one of the event organizers, Abraão Muribeca, the scientific fair "seeks to promote an inclusive education that values diversity, promotes respect for differences, and combats all forms of violence, including bullying and discrimination against historically excluded groups." The educator emphasizes that the event aims to mobilize a broad and diverse audience, bringing together students, teachers, researchers, and the community at large.
"The estimated audience is based on the strong capacity for articulation of municipal schools, the academic community, and the local population, consolidating a favorable environment for the exchange of knowledge, scientific practices, and educational experiences," he emphasizes.
The initiative seeks to awaken new perspectives on science and bring investigative practice closer to everyday school life. "The IV FeMCSal should strengthen students' curiosity and critical thinking, promoting scientific initiation from the earliest stages of education. Courses, workshops, and lectures will contribute to teacher training in investigative methodologies, making teaching more dynamic and contextualized," says Abraão Muribeca.
Collaboration - The event will also foster a collaborative network among schools, the Salvaterra campus, and public and private institutions, increasing the engagement of the school community in the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge. "The appreciation of local knowledge and the encouragement of the investigation of regional problems will reinforce the role of science in the development of the municipality. Finally, students' participation will enable the development of essential skills - such as teamwork, communication, argumentation, and autonomy - fundamental for their academic and professional trajectory," highlights the professor from campus XIX.
Uepa professor Ronilson Souza is also one of the organizers of the IV FeCMSal. For him, this will be an opportunity to bring Uepa closer to the Marajoara society.
"With the fair, our Higher Education students from the Uepa - Salvaterra campus will be able to work side by side with teachers and students from Basic Education, exchanging experiences, learning from the reality of schools, and strengthening the education of all. At the same time, the FeMCSal will help boost scientific dissemination here in the region, showing that science is also made and valued in the Amazon," he concludes.
