Detran provides licensing services for people with disabilities in Marabá and Parauapebas
The State Department of Transit (Detran) ensured practical exams for first-time licensing and CNH renewal in southeastern Pará
The Department of Transit of Pará (Detran) conducted practical exams for first-time licensing and CNH renewal for people with disabilities (PcDs) in the southeastern region of Pará this month. The exams were conducted following all protocols for PcDs, with the presence of the medical board, State Traffic Council (Cetran), and Detran examiners, who verify the physical and psychological conditions of the candidates. The evaluations were carried out at the Ciretrans of Marabá and Parauapebas.
The National Driver's License (CNH) is the document that authorizes the operation of a vehicle, ensuring compliance with the traffic regulations established by the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB). The process for obtaining the CNH for PcDs is the same as that applied to other candidates, differing only in the practical exam stage, which requires evaluation by a medical board to be conducted and validated.
During the services conducted in the municipalities, candidates for regular CNH and the Social Program CNH Pai D'égua, which allocates part of the slots for those with disabilities, were approved.
The Detran traffic examiner for PcDs, Juarez Castro, reported that in the municipality of Parauapebas, all candidates served were approved. In Marabá, among the evaluated participants, only one did not pass the practical exam. “The results obtained in the services were extremely satisfactory for the responsible sector. We expected a good rate, with only one candidate failing, and we achieved almost 100% approval in both municipalities,” said Juarez.
The Detran examination sector schedules appointments with the clinics in the municipality through official correspondence, according to demand, with the clinic responsible for informing and designating a doctor to accompany the procedure. The evaluations for PcDs include the presence of the clinic's doctor, the Detran traffic examiner, and a representative from Cetran.
The examiner is responsible for the practical part of the exam, the doctor conducts the clinical evaluation of the driver, and the Cetran member checks if the vehicle meets the specifications of the report issued by the clinic.
