Department of Transit of Pará (Detran) warns about the expiration of provisional CNHs
Survey from the agency indicates that 16 thousand licenses will expire this year
Getting the first driver's license is a dream for most people who wish to drive a vehicle. However, drivers who have a provisional license (PPD), that is, the provisional CNH, must be attentive, as the document is valid for only 12 months. According to the State Department of Transit (Detran), more than 16 thousand provisional CNHs are set to expire by the end of this year throughout Pará.
The agency warns that with the PPD, users must exercise extra caution, as during this period of provisional CNH, they cannot have committed serious or very serious infractions, nor can they be repeat offenders of medium infractions; otherwise, they will have to redo the entire licensing process.
Requesting the definitive license is a simple and quick procedure. Just access the Detran website (www.detran.pa.gov.br), issue the definitive CNH payment slip, and make the payment, without the need to take exams or appear at the Detran headquarters.
“It is important for the user to pay attention to the expiration date of the PPD and not to leave it until the last minute, as after paying the slip, they will still have to wait a few days to receive the definitive document,” reminds the director of licensing, drivers, and vehicle registration, Ana Carolina Sampaio.
In 2025, Detran carried out several mutirões and itinerant actions in different regions of the State to expedite services, including the regularization of first licensing processes that are still ongoing. According to Sampaio, drivers who prefer to clarify any doubts about this process can attend in person at any Detran agency or service point.
