Talented athletes from Pará take the State of Pará to the national podium
Athletes won three medals, two gold and one bronze, in a competition held in Paraná

With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), athletes from Pará shone at the XXIX Brazil Open Taekwondo Championship 2025, winning three medals, two gold and one bronze.
The event took place from October 4 to 5, in Pontal do Paraná (PR), organized by the Paraná Taekwondo Federation (FPTKD), valid for the national ranking, and brought together athletes from all over the country in high-level competitions.
The secretary of Seel, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the work developed by the Government of Pará in the sports field. “The Government of Pará has been continuously investing in sports, in our athletes, investing in citizenship, education, and opportunity,” said the secretary.
Representing Pará, with the support of the Government and Seel, athletes Vitória Andrade, Leonardo Alves, and Isadora dos Anjos achieved significant results in the following categories:
Vitória Andrade (17 years old) – youth category up to 55 kg – gold medal;
Leonardo Alves (18 years old) – adult category up to 54 kg – gold medal;
Isadora dos Anjos (14 years old) – cadet category up to 47 kg – bronze medal.
The achievements reflect not only the talent of the athletes but also the result of a grassroots work that has been strengthened in the State. For Orlando dos Anjos, father and coach of bronze medalist Isadora dos Anjos, the support from Seel has been decisive in turning dreams into concrete results.
“What the Government of Pará and Seel have been doing for sports, both amateur and professional, is very valid. With this support, we can plan, dream, and realize what is envisioned by families, athletes, and coaches,” he stated.
At just 17 years old, gold medalist Vitória Andrade showed maturity and technique in winning bronze in her new category. The athlete acknowledged the challenges of the competition but also the joy of representing Pará in a nationally prominent tournament.
“It was an enormous feeling of happiness to know that we are representing our State in such an important competition. The support from Seel is essential because it encourages athletes from various social classes, including those from low-income backgrounds, to achieve promising results in sports,” said Vitória.
The athletes are preparing for the next challenge: the Taekwondo Brazil Cup, from November 19 to 23 in Rio Grande do Sul, one of the main competitions on the national calendar.
