Seduc promotes artificial intelligence seminar for state network teachers
The event took place online, with approximately 600 registered participants, including teachers, directors, and specialists on the topic

To expand the knowledge of state network teachers about artificial intelligence, the State Department of Education (Seduc), through the Center for Innovation and Sustainability in Basic Education (Ciseb), held, this Friday (26), the Seminar "Artificial Intelligence in Education: ethics, innovation, and pedagogical practices."
The event took place online, with approximately 600 registered participants, including teachers, directors, and specialists on the topic. The panel of speakers included prosecutor Lilian Haber and professors Rafael Herdy and Lennon Pereira.

The Secretary of Education, Ricardo Sefer, highlighted the relevance of the initiative for strengthening the state's public education. "I participated in the first artificial intelligence seminar promoted by Ciseb, a sensational initiative. I have no doubt that the public education in Pará is aligned with the best practices of artificial intelligence, what is most modern in educational innovation. Our students are certainly very well served with this training. There were more than 600 participants, and I would like to commend, thank, and recognize the work of all education professionals at Ciseb, the technology and information directorate of Seduc, and everyone who builds public education in Pará," emphasized the head of Seduc.
The central panel addressed the theme "Pedagogical practices and innovation with artificial intelligence," and included the participation of state prosecutor Lilian Haber, who explained about ethics, privacy, and algorithmic biases. Lilian pointed out that debates like these are necessary for the correct use of the tool.

"There are many challenges regarding this ethical issue, I would like to congratulate the state of Pará, Seduc, for the opportunity to open this space for discussion. Wonderful tools, we have to use them, but we need to do so wisely," said the prosecutor.
The seminar discussed how AI can assist teachers in using artificial intelligence in the classroom. In addition, it promoted reflections to foster technological innovation in public education.
Still in the central panel, Professor Lennon Pereira presented a case study and artificial intelligence tools for planning and assessment.
Professor and director of innovation at Seduc, Rafael Herdy, explained about generative AI, maker culture, and creative learning.

"It is an honor to be able to share a little of what we have been discussing about artificial intelligence in the academic community, bringing solutions, possibilities for use, indeed, in the classroom. I believe that many teachers, managers, and specialists who are following us have the desire to know how to use, when to use AI in my classroom, and how this can help me in my daily life. And from this perspective, we will try to contribute a little to the training of teachers," explained the director.
At the end, the Practical Guide to Artificial Intelligence (https://bit.ly/GuiaIACISEB) was launched for teachers of the public network in Pará, aimed at enhancing education with innovation and sustainability. The document was prepared based on the results of discussions and research promoted by Ciseb.
Similarly, the course on the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) communication was launched https://bit.ly/bnccomp
