The State Department of Education (Seduc) conducted, this Monday (15), another strategic visit to the Regional Education Directorates (DREs). This time, the agenda took place at the DRE of Mãe do Rio, in the Rio Capim Integration Region, northeastern Pará. The initiative is part of a series of strategic visits that Seduc is making to all regional offices in the State.

The Secretary of State for Education, Ricardo Sefer, met with directors of state schools in Paragominas, one of the six municipalities managed by the DRE Mãe do Rio, which also includes Aurora do Pará, Ipixuna do Pará, Irituia, Ulianópolis, and Dom Eliseu, in addition to Mãe do Rio. The region hosts 31 state school units, with over 15,000 students.

Ricardo Sefer emphasized the importance of the partnership between the state government and the municipalities to ensure advances in education. "We will not solve everything at once, but as long as we are together, showing society that investments in education are medium and long-term, we will address the issues and increase the quality of education in the State," highlighted the secretary.

The technical visit was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary of Infrastructure of Seduc, Lázaro César da Silva, and state deputy Thiago Araújo. The meeting addressed the restructuring of the oldest school in the municipality, as well as agreements with municipalities, pedagogical programs, and the implementation of an Integrated Center for Basic Education Services (Ciseb) in the municipality.

Commitment - The head of the DRE Mãe do Rio, Eliane Cordeiro da Silva, highlighted the importance of the presence of the head of Seduc in the region. "It is the secretary's commitment to know the territory of each DRE, to understand the specificities that each one faces. There are problems that are common to all, but others that are unique to each region. This demonstrates sensitivity and commitment to improving education, listening to the school community, the leaders, and the management teams," she stated.

The delegation also visited the state schools Guilherme Gabriel, Castelo Branco, and Professor Raimundo Laureano in Paragominas; Adélia Carvalho Sodré in Ipixuna do Pará; Padre Marino Contti in Mãe do Rio; and Nicolau Neres da Silva in the municipality of Irituia.

Student Jamily Nascimento, from the 3rd year of High School at the Padre Marino Contti School, said that with the visit from Seduc managers, she felt "privileged, because we have never had a visit from a secretary here to see the state of our school. The management is just starting now, and it's starting well because he came to meet our request, to look at our school, and I believe that he will certainly help us."

This is the sixth DRE visited by Secretary Ricardo Sefer since the beginning of his term. Pará has 40 Regional Education Directorates, and all will receive the Seduc delegation by December.
