Government of Pará publishes notice to compose the State Commission for the Sustainable Development Goals
The initiative aims to expand social participation and institutionalize the United Nations 2030 Agenda within the scope of the state Executive Power

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Planning and Administration (Seplad), published the notice for the selection of Civil Society Entities and Scientific Institutions to compose the State Commission for the Sustainable Development Goals of the State of Pará (Ceodspa).
The initiative aims to expand social participation and institutionalize the United Nations 2030 Agenda within the scope of the state Executive Power, reinforcing Pará's commitment to sustainable development, poverty eradication, the promotion of equality, and environmental protection.
“With the establishment of CEODSPA, the state government begins the process of institutionalizing the 2030 Agenda – ODS PARÁ, contributing to its implementation and providing greater visibility and transparency to the actions taken to achieve the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs of the 2030 Agenda, both in government spheres and with organized civil society, which develops its activities here. The parity composition of CEODSPA ensures the participation of representative entities of civil society and scientific institutions, so that they also become responsible and actively participate in this important initiative,” explained Socorro Castro, director of Strategic Planning at Seplad.

CEODSPA is a strategic space for articulating and monitoring the SDG goals in the State. The commission will be responsible for proposing guidelines, monitoring execution, and evaluating actions aimed at implementing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, adapted to the Pará reality.
The selection process that will enable the participation of civil society entities in the commission (CEODSPA) will consist of three stages: registration and submission of documentation; qualification and classification; and the publication of the final result, which is scheduled for December 2025.
Next Monday (11), the Selection Committee will hold an online meeting to provide guidance on the selection notice. Interested parties should access the link: https://meet.google.com/umm-strt-ssi, from 10 am to 12 pm.

What is the 2030 Agenda?
The 2030 Agenda represents a collective commitment of UN member countries to transform the world into a fairer, more equal, and sustainable place. It requires the joint action of governments, civil society, the private sector, and citizens to achieve its objectives.
This plan consists of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets, which seek to eradicate poverty, protect the environment, combat inequalities, and ensure a dignified life for all people, leaving no one behind.
With this measure, the Government of Pará advances in consolidating fairer, more participatory public policies aligned with the global commitments made by Brazil in the 2030 Agenda.
