With the arrival of the dry season in Pará, the Amazon summer, and the consequent increase in tourist flow to the river and ocean resorts, the Government of Pará intensifies investments in road infrastructure to ensure safety and mobility during the busiest time of the year. Through the State Department of Infrastructure and Logistics (Seinfra), Operation Summer 2025 is already underway, focused on the conservation and maintenance of the highways leading to the main tourist destinations in the State.

According to the State Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Adler Silveira, preventive work on the roads is one of the priorities of the state administration, especially during periods of higher traffic, such as the Amazon summer. "We are carrying out continuous maintenance on the highways that lead to the main tourist spots in Pará. Our goal is to provide a calmer and safer summer for the population. Operation Summer 2025 has already started, with teams working in various regions, taking care of signage, asphalt conditions, and all the necessary infrastructure so that residents and visitors can travel with comfort, mobility, and safety," informs the secretary.

With a schedule that involves asphalt recovery, drainage, signage, and technical monitoring of the roads, the Government of Pará reaffirms its commitment to the quality of road infrastructure and the well-being of the population.

"The strategy aims not only to facilitate travel to the resorts but also to stimulate domestic tourism, strengthen the regional economy, and contribute to the social development of the communities involved," says the head of Seinfra.

Ready for tourism - Among the most sought-after places by residents and visitors is Mosqueiro Island, a district of Belém, with its river beaches and the charm of its chalets. The PA-391 highway, which is 40 kilometers long, is the main access road to the island and is in good condition to accommodate the large flow of vehicles this season.

A resident of the Metropolitan Region of Belém, student Kaiky Augusto Araújo, 19, often visits Mosqueiro with friends and highlights the welcoming environment and ease of movement. For him, the sunset, good restaurants, and the village's atmosphere are the biggest attractions.

"Mosqueiro is a very nice place to be. It’s quiet, has several beaches close to each other, and since it’s a small island, it’s easy to get around. I really like the waterfront and the village, especially in the late afternoon. The sunset is beautiful, the view of the river is amazing, and there’s always activity, but it doesn’t get too crowded. We usually have lunch there; the restaurants are affordable, and there’s a very welcoming atmosphere," assures Kaiky.

Another very sought-after location is Marudá, a district of Marapanim, in northeastern Pará. The PA-318, which is 37 kilometers long, facilitates access to the village and neighboring municipalities, such as Curuçá.

Also in the Salgado Zone, an area influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, the municipality of Bragança, known as "Pearl of Caeté," receives special attention from Seop on the PA-380, which is 20 kilometers long, and the newly revitalized PA-112, which is 64.5 kilometers long.

Calm route - Student Marine Isabel, 22, visited Bragança for the first time during the last vacation and was surprised by the speed of the journey. According to her, the safe and well-maintained road contributed to a smooth trip without setbacks.

"I thought the trip would take a long time, but the road was so good that we arrived much faster than expected. And traveling on a well-maintained road changes everything. You feel safer, can enjoy the journey better, and arrive more refreshed. Bragança is beautiful, has great beaches, and the food is wonderful. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken here in Pará," she recalls.

In western Pará, the village of Alter do Chão, in the municipality of Santarém, is one of the main references for nature tourism in the region, internationally known as the "Amazon Caribbean." The resort, famous for its white sand beaches, bathed by the Tapajós River, is accessed by the PA-457, which is 28.68 km long. The road has also undergone structural improvements, ensuring a safer and more comfortable journey for residents and visitors.
