At Uepa, Confucius Institute will enroll for new classes of Mandarin and Chinese for Business

Interested parties can register online. The spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Confucius Institute, located at the State University of Pará (Uepa) in Belém, will enroll for new classes of free Mandarin and Chinese for Business courses. The classes will be in-person, taught by native Chinese teachers, at the Institute's headquarters, located at Travessa Dom Pedro I, nº 519, in the Umarizal neighborhood.

Enrollment for the free Mandarin course, level I, will be available from 9 AM on July 21 (Monday) to 5 PM on July 22 (Tuesday), through registration via Google Forms. A total of 120 spots will be offered, distributed as follows: 85 spots for students, faculty, and staff of Uepa; 20 spots for high school students; 10 spots for students of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA); and five spots for the general public.

To register, applicants must be at least 15 years old and present all required documentation at the time of registration. The list of required documents is available on the Confucius Institute website. The spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and only those that meet all selection criteria will be validated. Classes will start on August 4, 2025, with morning and afternoon sessions.

Prior knowledge - The Chinese for Business course is aimed at those who have completed levels 1 and 2 of Mandarin or hold an HSK1 certificate. Enrollment can be done from 9 AM on July 23 (Wednesday) to 5 PM on July 24 (Thursday), through the link available here. There are 20 spots available for students, faculty, staff of Uepa, and the general community. Classes will begin on August 5, 2025, with meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 PM to 5 PM.

Interested parties must also be at least 15 years old and present the requested documents. The spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and confirmed via email on July 30 and 31.
