Government of Pará delivers food baskets to families in Itaituba, Aveiro, and Jacareacanga
More than 3,500 baskets are distributed to families in situations of social vulnerability in the Tapajós Integration Region due to heavy rains

The Government of Pará promoted a solidarity action in Itaituba, southwestern Pará, delivering on this Friday (25) more than 3,700 food baskets to families affected by heavy rains, benefiting families from the municipalities of Itaituba, Aveiro, and Jacareacanga in vulnerable situations, mainly due to the loss of assets and sources of income.
During the delivery, Governor Helder Barbalho highlighted the importance of the partnership between the State and the municipalities. "This is a partnership of the state government with the municipalities so that we can assist families with greater social difficulty, with greater social vulnerability," he stated, emphasizing that the baskets benefited not only families from Itaituba but also from Jacareacanga and Aveiro, who will receive logistical support from the Military Fire Department in distributing the food.

The speed of the Government's response to the needs of the affected communities was emphasized by Helder Barbalho. "From the identification made by the municipal civil defenses, the state government delivers here, in Itaituba, these baskets, which are helping those who need it most," the governor informed. One thousand baskets were delivered to Aveiro, 1,400 to Jacareacanga, and 1,350 to Itaituba.
Vice Governor Hana Ghassan highlighted the government's work both in carrying out works and in humanitarian aid for the municipalities.
"In every corner of this state, there are hardworking people from Pará. And the state government has to be a reflection of the population, it has to be a present government, that does everything from large works in the state to humanitarian aid for those in need. It has to be a government that looks out for everyone and for all. There is no benefit, there is no work that is not important for the state. I want you to know that we work daily for the population," she stated.

Fisherman Sebastião Alves de Almeida, 64 years old, resident of the Independência 1 community, said that, "today, we walked here to receive a basic basket from the governor, because I went through a lot of hardship during the drought. Knowing that the basket has arrived is a blessing," he declared emotionally. Sebastião also said that the state's support comes at a critical moment for the population. "Thank God it arrived. When we need it most, it is with us," assured the resident.

Microcredit – Helder Barbalho also announced the granting of 100 benefits from the CredCidadão Program to local small entrepreneurs, totaling an investment of R$ 200,000. "Today, in addition to delivering food baskets, we are bringing the microcredit program here, supporting small entrepreneurs in Itaituba," he emphasized. The measure aims to strengthen regional economic activity and provide an alternative source of income for residents.
Gilmar Pereira Gomes runs a car wash. This is the third time he has benefited from CredCidadão. "This is of great relevance. This money helps a lot in our business. When we are in need, we can breathe a little. In previous times, I modified the aesthetics of the business, and now I have been working on the machines. This will improve my work performance."
The CredCidadão Program was created in 2014, with the aim of offering accessible credit and technical support to micro-entrepreneurs, contributing to the economic development of communities. The governor emphasized that "it is a look from the state government of attention and care for those who need it most." The Program is an important tool to promote entrepreneurship and assist those seeking to rebuild their activities after difficult times.

The day of solidarity action in Itaituba reflects the government's commitment to the most vulnerable population. "I celebrate that we can establish the partnership with the municipalities to ensure that these food baskets can arrive as quickly as possible," added Helder Barbalho.
