Sedap launches a pioneering technological platform for agro-environmental transition
Starting on November 20, the launch date, the system will operate in a highly automated manner
At the technological forefront for low-carbon production, the State of Pará, through the Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fisheries (Sedap), in partnership with the Land Institute of Pará (Iterpa) and the Secretary of Environment and Sustainability (Semas), held the pre-launch of Sicarf ABC+ Pará on Monday (17): an innovative module integrated into the Sicarf platform (Land Registration and Regularization System), dedicated to the registration, monitoring, and certification of sustainable practices.
The pre-launch took place during the panel "Territorial governance, public innovation, and climate agriculture: ABC+ Plan in building a sustainable Amazonian agro", at the Pará Pavilion of COP30, attended by the Secretary of State of Sedap, Giovanni Queiroz; the coordinator of ABC+PA of Sedap, Tiago Catuxo; and the co-CEO of YouX Group, which developed the platform, Ronan Mendes. The moderation was by the commercial director of YouX, Danilus Rebelo.
For the Secretary of State of Sedap, Giovanni Queiroz, the new platform will connect land regularization, green credit, and low-carbon agriculture, providing security to farmers and boosting the external market for products cultivated in agroforestry systems.
"This tool comes to take the first step so that we can implement truly productive areas, with agroforestry agriculture, while also providing security to small farmers in the property they are investing in. This undoubtedly brings us the condition to have the green seal tomorrow and the ability to market resources, following the world's requirements for acquiring agricultural products," he emphasizes.
The Sicarf ABC+ Pará platform - Is considered a digital solution developed specifically to bring the State Plan for Low Carbon Emission Agriculture (ABC+ Pará Plan) to life, connecting producers, technicians, companies, and government in a single digital environment, bringing efficiency, transparency, and territorial intelligence to the execution of the ABC+ Plan.
According to the co-CEO of YouX Group that developed the platform, Ronan Mendes, "Sicarf, initially focused on land regularization, evolved into a territorial ordering tool, integrating land and environmental issues, and became essential for monitoring ABC+."
Launch forecast - Starting on November 20, the launch date, the system will operate in a highly automated manner. The registration of sustainable practices can be done by producers, technicians, or companies directly in the application (including offline) or via the web, with georeferencing linked to the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR).
The information is automatically analyzed by the system, which cross-references data with various public databases (MapBiomas, Prodes, ICMBio, Incra, Ibama, Funai). This process generates a reliable preliminary report on land use and environmental compliance. After field inspection and validation, Sicarf ABC+ issues digital sustainability certificates, officially recognizing properties that adopt good practices and facilitating their access to green credits, seals, and differentiated markets.
About the ABC Plan - According to the coordinator of ABC+PA of Sedap, Tiago Catuxo, the ABC Plan (Low Carbon Agriculture), initiated in 2010 and with renewed goals for 2020-2030, is a national policy aimed at promoting more sustainable agriculture. "ABC is a Brazil strategy for low-carbon agriculture and is a strategy presented at COPs. ABC was presented at the Copenhagen COP and consolidated at the France COP. So, it is a strategy for more resilient and regenerative agriculture, which brings the farmer to the stage," he explains.
Among the practices encouraged by the Plan are the recovery of degraded pastures, agroforestry systems, the integration of crop-livestock-forest systems, direct planting, biological nitrogen fixation, planted forests, irrigation, and the management of animal production waste. ABC+ represents an opportunity for Pará to advance towards a low-carbon economy, reconciling production and conservation.
