SECTET presents panel and lecture on bioeconomy and technology at Techzone
The State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet) participated on the afternoon of this Thursday (13) in the panel "Innovation Actions in Bioeconomy" during Techzone, an event promoted by the Guamá Science and Technology Park (PCT Guamá) and the Guamá Foundation, as part of the integrated programming of the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30).
On this occasion, Sectet presented data from the StartUp Pará Program and held a lecture on the functioning of the Bioeconomy Observatory (Obio-Pará), a platform that integrates strategic information from the sector with the aim of boosting the development of bioeconomy in the Amazon region of Pará.
During the presentation, Prof. Dr. Rommel Ramos, technical manager of the CT&I and Bioeconomy Observatory, highlighted that the platform brings together indicators, sector studies, and interactive panels, in addition to incorporating technologies such as artificial intelligence and accessibility in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), expanding access to information. According to him, "the tool integrates data from various secretariats and public institutions, allowing managers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and society to transparently track advances in science, technology, innovation, and sustainable use of natural resources," he pointed out.
The program also included the participation of StartUp Pará, which presented concrete actions and significant results in strengthening the State's innovation ecosystem. Entrepreneurs supported by the initiative, accompanied by coordinator Renato Cortes, reported how the program has boosted technology-based businesses, promoting training, specialized mentoring, and access to investments that are already transforming ideas into solutions applied to the Amazonian reality. Renato highlighted that StartUp Pará has consolidated itself as one of the main public policies to stimulate innovative entrepreneurship in the region.
"StartUp Pará not only supports projects; it creates real conditions for them to grow, gain market, and make a difference. Being here at Techzone shows the strength of this work and the impact that innovation, when supported by public power, can generate for all of the Amazon," Renato stated.
The panel also attracted students and researchers interested in the theme of bioeconomy. Among them, Chemistry student Lucas Dejard evaluated that the event broadened his perception of the potential of the area in the State. "Hearing about the Observatory and understanding how technology can organize bioeconomy data made me see possibilities for action that I hadn't even imagined. It's inspiring to see Pará advancing on this topic with such seriousness," he commented.
Highlighting the importance of Sectet's presence at the event, Secretary Victor Dias stated that participating in Techzone reinforces the State's commitment to evidence-based public policies. "Sectet participates in Techzone because we understand that it is essential to present concrete data from StartUp Pará, a program that transforms ideas into businesses and strengthens the State's innovation ecosystem. Furthermore, explaining how the Bioeconomy Observatory works shows that we are structuring solid foundations for bioeconomy to become a vector of development, income generation, and environmental preservation in Pará," he declared.
Techzone continues until this Friday (14), bringing together researchers, public managers, and representatives of national and international institutions to discuss the role of Amazonian science and technology in the transition to a sustainable economy.
