EGPA brings to COP30 a debate on the future of the Amazon and the transformative role of public servants
EGPA will be present at the Pará Pavilion, the state government's space in the Green Zone of COP30, which will be open to the public. The panel will discuss the importance of public servants as agents of transformation.
With the theme "Government Schools and the Future of the Amazon: The Post-COP30 Agenda from the ESG Perspective for Public Servants and Services", the Public Governance School of the State of Pará (EGPA) will be present at the Conference of the Parties (COP30) on November 18, in the Green Zone, in Belém, with the aim of proposing and consolidating a sustainable agenda that strengthens the role of public servants as agents of transformation in the Amazon, as well as discussing the role of Government Schools in building the future of the Amazon from the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) perspective.
Government Schools, by incorporating ESG into their curricula and methodologies, become laboratories of innovation, ethics, and sustainability, promoting the training of conscious professionals prepared to lead a new cycle of sustainable development.
EGPA, through its Innovation and Governance Laboratory, is already acting in this direction, offering training, co-creating solutions with communities, and connecting the UN's 2030 Agenda to the realities of the Amazon. During COP30, the institution will also present its planning for the post-COP30 period, focusing on training actions and strengthening public service.
The public servant as a public agent:
The panel of the agency will be presented by the coordinator of the Innovation Laboratory (LabInov) and Distance Education (EaD), Reinan Abreu, who explains that the theme of the proposal arose from the understanding that the public servant has a strategic role in building a new sustainable model for the Amazon. Thus, the theme reinforces ethics, responsibility, and innovation in public management.
"The government of Pará, through EGPA, is committed to making the Amazon an example of green, collaborative, and innovative public management, where the public servant always stands out as the protagonist of this change and the public policies we desire," explains the coordinator.
For the general director of EGPA, Helvio Arruda, the theme to be presented reinforces the commitment to sustainability and innovation in the public sector.
"The Public Governance School of the State of Pará could not miss this important event of COP30, so we will be on November 18 honoring the work that will be presented through our innovation laboratory," says the director.
