Vigia de Nazaré wins the Efficiency Trophy at the 10th Regional of Joapa

The delegation from the municipality that hosted the last regional stage scored 60 points and will be in the state phase, which will take place in Belém

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), concluded on Sunday (2) the 10th and last regional stage of the XIV edition of the Open Games of Pará (Joapa), Regional Guamá/Guajará, held in the municipality of Vigia de Nazaré, northeastern Pará. The Vigia delegation lifted the most coveted prize of the competition, the Efficiency Trophy, with 64 points earned.

The municipality stood out in basketball, futsal, beach soccer, handball, volleyball, and table tennis. In second place was Castanhal, with 20 points, followed by Marituba, also with 20 points. The Regional gathered 890 athletes from 13 municipalities. The Efficiency Trophy is awarded to the delegation with the best overall performance in the total points in the competition.

Transformation Tool - The State Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the importance of Joapa as an instrument for valuing and integrating amateur sports in Pará. “We conclude with great joy the last regional stage of the Open Games of Pará. It has been months of competitions, thousands of athletes, and hundreds of municipalities participating. Joapa is the largest event of amateur sports in the State, bringing inclusion, health, and opportunities for athletes from all regions. Seeing the gym full, the crowds cheering, and the young people competing with determination shows that sports are alive, and it is a powerful tool for social transformation,” emphasized the secretary.

Athlete Denise Silva stood out in the competition

The Vigia athlete Denise Silva, champion in handball, said that “winning at home has a special flavor. The crowd made all the difference, and the organization of the games was incredible. We feel valued for representing our city and seeing sports grow throughout the State. This trophy is for all of us, from Vigia and Pará.”

The next phase of the Open Games of Pará will be the state phase, which will take place from December 4 to 7 in Belém. The stage will bring together the champions of the 10 regionals in the largest amateur sports competition in the State.
