The Science and Technology Park (PCT) Guamá will host, from November 10 to 14, from 1 PM to 6 PM, the Tech Zone, a program that is part of the official calendar of the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30) in Belém. The initiative highlights the strategic role of science, technology, and innovation in building sustainable solutions for the Amazon. Participation is free upon online registration via Sympla.

The event is organized by PCT Guamá; the State Secretariat for Science, Technology, and Higher, Professional, and Technological Education (Sectet); the Amazon Foundation for Support to Studies and Research (Fapespa); the Information and Communication Technology Company of the State of Pará (Prodepa); and the State University of Pará (Uepa).

Over five days, researchers, public managers, representatives from educational institutions, startups, civil society organizations, and actors from the innovation ecosystem will participate in panels, lectures, and exhibitions focused on challenges and opportunities for sustainable development in the region.

The first day will feature discussions on smart cities and connectivity, bringing together initiatives in artificial intelligence, environmental monitoring, and sustainable city models. On the second day, the focus will shift to water resources, highlighting research and solutions aimed at coastal communities and water management in the Amazon.

The third day will center on technology applied to environmental preservation, emphasizing satellite monitoring, environmental analysis, and productive inclusion. The fourth day will be dedicated to research, development, and bioeconomy, showcasing studies and technologies based on Amazonian resources, such as açaí fibers, cassava, and supercritical extraction systems.

The closing event on the 14th will bring together experts to reflect on innovation, sustainability, and climate financing, with discussions on international funding mechanisms and perspectives for the post-COP30 scenario, followed by a cultural attraction.

Reference in innovation - PCT Guamá is an initiative of the Government of Pará, through Sectet, in partnership with the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (Ufra), managed by the Guamá Foundation.
