Graesp provides support to the State's health agencies for liver transplantation
Agile work done by the Graesp pilot team and health professionals from Belém and Capanema ensured the quick and safe transport of the harvested organ
The Air Group of Public Security (Graesp), linked to the State Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), carried out another public health action last Wednesday, 22, for hospitalized patients waiting for a transplant. The logistics coordinated by the State Transplant Center of the State Secretariat of Public Health (CET/Sespa) involved the donation of a liver that was transported by the Group to Belém.
The initiative is part of the support to the State Secretariat of Public Health (Sespa), through agile work done by the Graesp pilot team and health professionals from Belém and the Regional Public Hospital of Caetés (HRPC) in Capanema.
This is the second transport of a harvested organ from the hospital in Capanema, coordinated among the security agencies, along with the State health agency, which acted jointly and swiftly to ensure that the organ arrived safely and ready for transplantation.
“We managed to accelerate the organ harvesting, from the location where it will be harvested to the location where it will be delivered. This is the role of Graesp, to deliver in a timely manner, reducing the distance so that the organ arrives in conditions for this transplant to be safely performed by the medical teams. This year is the second time we have carried out this harvesting together with the State Transplant Center in the municipality of Capanema, and we see the importance of Graesp also in preserving life and organs, as this one, in particular, will serve for someone's life. We are very happy to know that we contributed and participated in the good recovery of a person who is in need of such vital assistance for their health,” emphasized Armando Gonçalves, director of the Air Group of Public Security.
