Security actions in support of the pilgrims continue on BR-316 and Alça Viária
The teams from state and municipal security and traffic forces continue with rounds and strategic security bases to curb any criminal activity and ensure the social peace of everyone on the roads.

Thousands of pilgrims continue walking on the access roads to the capital of Pará to express their faith. And to ensure support for the pilgrims and the staff working at the 28 service posts along BR-316, Alça Viária, and state highways since last Monday (6), the teams from state and municipal security and traffic forces continue with rounds and strategic security bases to curb any criminal activity and ensure the social peace of everyone on the roads.
In some cases, the route exceeds 80 kilometers, with more than 24 hours of walking on the roads. For these pilgrims, the integrated action by the agencies and support from establishments provides important assistance. "The State, in an integrated manner, is mobilized to ensure that these people can profess their faith safely and receive all necessary assistance. Therefore, in addition to the welcome, food, and health support they receive, we are monitoring each of these 28 posts and maintaining policing to ensure their safety on the roads," emphasizes the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado.

The visible policing carried out by the Military Police and municipal security and traffic agencies continues until Saturday (11) along the pilgrims' route to maintain order and safety. According to the agents involved in the action, it is expected that by early Saturday morning (11), other groups of pilgrims will still arrive in the capital making this journey on foot.
Corporal PM Assis, who works in the 39th Battalion of Benevides and has been involved in policing actions supporting the pilgrims walking to Belém for the fourth year, considers it a privilege to serve the population at such an event. "It is a great satisfaction to be part of this event, which is the Círio de Nazaré, that has a worldwide significance, and Belém becomes a mirror for Brazil and the world. So, as a security agent, it is a privilege to participate here during the early morning shift, policing the road at the Mosqueiro junction, providing support for the pilgrims who come to fulfill their promises, expressing their faith. I feel grateful to be here, witnessing the expression of faith from people and ensuring their safety," he noted.

Débora Lemos, who has been part of the "Walking of Faith" group for ten years and makes the journey from Castanhal to the Basilica of Nazaré via BR-316, arrived in the capital in the early hours of this Friday (9), after completing the route with her parents and other group members, which has existed for over 40 years.
"I joined the group founded by my neighbor after my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She received the diagnosis, had surgery at that time in April, and after the procedure, she did not need to undergo any other medical complications or more aggressive treatment for the disease and was cured. Therefore, still in the same year, in October, she joined our neighbors and the entire group and began participating in the walk as a way of thanking for the grace received. Then, seeing what she experienced and hearing the testimony she shared, including from the people who walked, I started to go too. Nowadays, in addition to participating in the walk, I also provide support and assistance to people expressing their faith. So, I have participated all these years in gratitude to Our Lady, and every year, the support we receive on the road is even better. I have stopped at some points, and it has been incredible the welcome and all the assistance we have received, including improvements in signage and safety," she said, emotionally.
Integration - Agents from the Secretary of Public Security, Military Police, Military Fire Brigade, Municipal Guards, Red Cross, Civil Defense, Health and Tourism Secretariats, as well as the Federal Highway Police, are part of the action in support of the pilgrims' walk, which concludes this Saturday (11).
