More than 150 women participate in health and self-care actions by ParáPaz
Action at the ParáPaz Social, Sports, and Recreational Inclusion Unit and private college ensured learning and support in Jurunas, Belém

The day was one of learning at the ParáPaz Social, Sports, and Recreational Inclusion Unit, part of the 'Open Spaces' Project, in the Jurunas neighborhood of Belém. About 150 women enrolled in the unit participated in a meeting full of information and health services.
The program took place in two shifts, in the morning and afternoon of Wednesday (8), ensuring a more welcoming and organized service for all participants. During the event, they received guidance on oral hygiene, care for dental prostheses, prevention of xerostomia (dry mouth), as well as tips on skin care and prevention of mouth cancer.

The project coordinator, Carlos Valente, highlighted the importance of these ongoing actions for the community. "We see the joy on each participant's face for being here, learning and taking care of themselves. This type of action shows that inclusion goes far beyond sports and leisure. It’s about care, coexistence, and opportunities for everyone."
Carlos also emphasized that the collective snack and the distribution of basic food baskets are moments full of meaning. “They are opportunities to welcome, share, and celebrate together, especially during this time of Círio, which inspires solidarity and faith,” he said.

Housekeeper Margarete Andrade, 47, who actively participates in the unit's activities, said she loved the moment. “I found the lecture interesting for us to learn about the care we need to have for our health. I always participate in the programs and love the dance classes. Our group is very lively.”
In addition to the guidance, services for measuring blood pressure and blood glucose were also offered, and the families served received basic food baskets, making the day even more special on the eve of the Círio de Nazaré, which takes place next Sunday (12).

The event, held in partnership between the ParáPaz Foundation and Finama College, was attended by the president of the ParáPaz Foundation, Alberto Teixeira, who accompanied the activities and reinforced the institution's commitment.
“We are committed to being present in the daily lives of communities, bringing information, support, and actions that strengthen citizenship. Partnerships like this reinforce the importance of network work to promote health and social well-being.”
