Lula visits City Park and monitors the final phase of structure assembly for COP 30 in Belém
Alongside Governor Helder Barbalho, the president tours the Blue and Green Zones; assembly of modular structures exceeds 90% and 85% of the special flooring has already been installed

Governor Helder Barbalho and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva visited City Park on the morning of this Friday (03) to monitor the final phase of assembly of temporary structures for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 30) in Belém. So far, 55,000 people have registered to participate in the conference.
During the agenda, Helder presented the president with the complex's facilities — such as the Gastronomic Center and the Creative Economy Center — and guided the delegation through the areas where the pavilions of the Blue and Green Zones are being erected. The work fronts are progressing rapidly. More than 90% of the modular structures are already assembled, 85% of the special flooring has been installed, the accreditation area and VIP access are completed, and the assembly of the internal booths is ongoing.
In City Park, the Blue Zone — the official space, with restricted access to accredited individuals, intended for high-level negotiations between delegations and leaders from over 190 countries — will occupy about 160,000 m², with pavilions, plenaries, and offices for the delegations. The inspection included guidelines on internal logistics, security, and mobility flows for full operation during the event.

City Park: legacy and operation
With 500,000 m², City Park, the venue for COP 30, has 100% of the COP Stage works completed, including the buildings of the Creative Economy Center and the Gastronomic Center. Established in the area of the former airport, the complex features a large green area with over 2,500 trees. The leisure area was opened to the public in June and hosted public holiday camps for 10,000 children, teenagers, and seniors until August. In less than two months of operation, the park recorded over 670,000 visitors, highlighting the relevance of this legacy for the city.
Since August 18, the space has been closed and under the responsibility of the Federal Government and the UN for the assembly of the temporary modular structures of the negotiation pavilions and plenaries of the Blue and Green Zones.
