The State Secretariat for Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas) opened, this Wednesday (1st), the registrations for the Simplified Selection Process (PSS) for the formation of voluntary civil brigades for the prevention and combat of wildfires. The initiative is part of the Pará Without Fire Program, launched in June of this year, which strengthens prevention and response actions to wildfires in priority areas of the State.
The announcement provides for the selection of 112 volunteer firefighters, in addition to a reserve list of up to 224 candidates, to operate in the municipalities of Rurópolis, Itaituba, Trairão, Novo Progresso, Jacareacanga, Altamira (district of Castelo dos Sonhos) and São Félix do Xingu (rural areas).
The approved candidates will have a workload of 44 hours per week and will receive a monthly allowance of up to R$ 3,036.00. Among the requirements are ages between 18 and 59 years, completed elementary education, residence near the area of operation, and physical and mental fitness for physical effort activities.
Registration is free and can be done virtually until October 5, through the Semas portal, or in person, from October 1 to 3, at the Regional Offices of the Secretariat.
The selection process will be carried out in five phases: registration, document and curriculum analysis, Physical Aptitude Test (TAF), Skill Test in the Use of Agricultural Tools (Thufa), final result, and calling, which are scheduled for October 24.
The approved candidates will undergo training in wildfire prevention and combat, conducted by the Military Fire Brigade, between October 27 and 31. The start of activities is scheduled for November 6 of this year.
According to Lília Reis, deputy secretary of Administrative Management and Technologies of Semas, "this selection process represents another important step for strengthening the Pará Without Fire program. The initiative expands the reach of voluntary brigades and reaffirms the State's commitment to environmental preservation and the protection of communities, our forests, and our fauna throughout the Pará territory."
