The Amazon Inclusive Cellists Orchestra will be one of the attractions this Friday (26) at Waldemar Henrique

The Teatro Experimental Waldemar Henrique will host, this Friday (26), the Helena Maia Youth Orchestra and the Amazon Inclusive Cellists Orchestra (OVAi) for free concerts starting at 7 PM. The performances are part of the 46th anniversary program of the theater, and tickets will be distributed on-site starting at 6 PM.

The Helena Maia Youth Orchestra will open the evening performing international hits such as "Beethoven in Blue Jeans" (by Michael Hopkins) and regional songs like "Foi Boto, Sinhá", "Juriti", "Matinta Pereira", and "Uirapuru" by conductor Waldemar Henrique. The ensemble consists of string instruments such as violin, viola, cello, and double bass.

The group will feature soloists Rodrigo Schumacher, Dayse Addario, Nívea Mendes, and Sâmya Gonçalves, along with a special participation from the Teachers' Band of the UFPA Music School (Emufpa).

The Helena Maia Youth Orchestra will also take the stage at the Waldemar Henrique theater

Next, the Amazon Inclusive Cellists Orchestra (OVAi) will take the stage, a pioneering group in Brazil that brings together cellists with and without disabilities with the aim of democratizing access and promoting inclusion. OVAi consists of musicians who are regularly enrolled students and alumni of Emufpa, as well as musicians from the community.

The activities of OVAi are aimed at both cello teaching and the integration and inclusion of individuals with potential developmental disorders or learning difficulties (diagnosed or not), such as autistic individuals, those with ADHD, Down syndrome, and dyslexia, for example.

To join the Amazon Inclusive Cellists Orchestra (OVAi), one must be regularly enrolled at Emufpa or participate in the research conducted by Professor Áureo de Freitas. Alumni from Emufpa are also welcome. Currently, the Inclusive Cellists Orchestra consists of more than 15 students with disabilities and performs periodically.
