Governor Helder Barbalho participates in the 10th ExpoCanaã, in southern Pará
Event in Canaã dos Carajás reinforces the agricultural vocation of the municipality and boosts the regional economy

The governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho, participated on the night of this Thursday (4) in the 10th Agricultural Exhibition of Canaã dos Carajás (ExpoCanaã), one of the main fairs in the sector in the southeastern state. The head of the state executive highlighted the importance of agribusiness for the regional economy, emphasizing that the municipality is not only recognized for mining but also for its productive strength in the field, responsible for generating jobs and income.
“This is a significant moment that symbolizes the power of agribusiness in the State, particularly in southern Pará, this frontier of livestock production and grain production. Canaã dos Carajás is increasingly consolidating as the city that has mining and agribusiness as the vocations that generate jobs, income, develop local commerce, and ensure industry arrives. All of this allows for the good moment that Canaã is experiencing, with development, with the city growing, with quality of life. I congratulate Josemira for leading this transformation. The State Government is alongside the municipality to collaborate more and work for a Canaã dos Carajás that symbolizes the struggle of this people who blaze trails and build the present and future of the State of Pará,” said Governor Helder Barbalho.

Accompanied by the First Lady of the State, Daniela Barbalho, and the mayor of Canaã dos Carajás, Josemira Gadelha, as well as other local authorities, the governor toured the fair's stands, participated in activities in the rodeo arena, and even played the horn, a gesture that excited the audience present.
Production and development
Helder Barbalho also emphasized Pará's productive dimension on the national scene. “The State of Pará has the second largest cattle herd in Brazil with 26 million head of cattle and has been advancing strongly in grain production, corn, rice, soybeans, cocoa production, pineapple production, açaí production. All of this means that the State needs to increasingly strengthen the agribusiness of Pará with legal security, with peace in the field, with land titles, with incentives for rural production, with the presence of the police through rural battalions, studying to attract investment and more and more so that agribusiness can generate jobs, generate income for the people of Pará,” he highlighted.

Incentive to bioeconomy
For local entrepreneurs, the fair is also an opportunity to value regional production. Entrepreneur Reginaldo Ferreira, who works in the bioeconomy sector, emphasized the role of the State in strengthening the production chain.
“We work with nuts and try to increasingly value the local producer. The products here are 100% local. Bioeconomy and sustainability are fundamental. The cocoa economy needs to be valued and the State has been doing this more and more,” he stated.
