The series of technical visits that the State Department of Education (Seduc) is conducting to the Regional Education Boards (DRE) continued this Thursday (4) at the DRE of the municipality of Abaetetuba, in the Tocantins Integration Region, northeastern Pará. The initiative aims to align actions and pedagogical strategies among managers, teachers, coordinators, technicians, and the school community regarding the methodology of the teaching and learning process.

Secretary Ricardo Sefer spoke with managers from the Tocantins Region

The Secretary of State for Education, Ricardo Sefer, promoted dialogues aimed at providing more well-being to students, teachers, managers, and other staff, aiming to improve the quality of education.

During the visit, the education delegation visited the facilities of the Pedro Teixeira State School of Elementary and Secondary Education and the adjacent building to verify the infrastructure on-site. Subsequently, they visited the educational units Laura Ribeiro, Leônidas Monte, Laura dos Santos, and Benvinda Araújo Pontes. The Vila Maiauatá State High School, in the municipality of Igarapé-Miri, also received a visit from the Secretary of Education and the delegation from the Regional Education Board.

“We had a long day in the Tocantins Region visiting schools in the municipalities of Abaetetuba, Igarapé-Miri, and Barcarena. We got to know several schools, already thinking of various solutions for the Islands Region, but also for those here in the center. And, certainly, there will be a lot of partnership with the mayor of the municipality so that we can continue advancing in public education in Pará,” said Ricardo Sefer.

The head of Seduc also met with the regional manager, Dalcyléa Corrêa Pinheiro, to discuss priority pedagogical demands, such as performance in assessments, recovery of learning, and advances and challenges for the Basic Assessment System (Saeb) of 2025, in addition to staff allocation, ongoing programs, and the functioning of systems and monitoring of indicators.

Dialogue - For the manager, the meeting allows the Seduc manager to get closer to the school units, so that together they can continue prioritizing and ensuring development in the state public schools.

“We have never received a Secretary of Education at the DRE of Abaetetuba. We are very happy, and we were eager to show how our board is. Here, our pedagogical and administrative teams speak the same language to improve education in our region,” stated Dalcyléa Corrêa Pinheiro.

The Regional Education Boards act as a point of decentralization for Seduc, being responsible for implementing the actions of the Secretary, ensuring that programs and actions reach the regions more directly, in order to bring the state management closer to the reality of the municipalities.

The Abaetetuba Regional Education Board is the third largest DRE, responsible for managing the municipalities (jurisdiction) of Acará, Barcarena, Igarapé-Miri, Moju, and Tailândia, totaling about 53 educational units and approximately 40,000 students.

In Barcarena - Secretary Ricardo Sefer also visited nearby municipalities managed by the DRE of Abaetetuba, such as the Palmira Gabriel State High School; Eduardo Angelim, in Vila dos Cabanos, and the Professor José Maria Machado School - all in Barcarena.

“We finished a long day. We started in Abaetetuba, went through Igarapé-Miri, in Vila Maiauatá. We also visited three schools in the municipality of Barcarena. It was a very productive day. I saw a lot. We had many ideas, and we found solutions just by talking and getting to know the reality,” informed the head of Seduc.

“I want to tell everyone who is part of the school community, who are staff of the Secretary of Education and are part of this education process, that improvements will indeed come,” announced Ricardo Sefer, adding that “the challenges are enormous, and society expects a lot from us to bring improvements. And we will work for that.”
