Between August 27 and 28, the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), through the Directorate of Public Policies and Social Prevention (DPS), trained 46 servers linked to the service of vulnerable groups who are victims of violence. The initiative took place in a Cultural Center in downtown Santa Izabel, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém.

The training included servers from the Military Police of Pará, Civil Police, Fire Department of Pará, Department of Transit (Detran), municipal guards, municipal government, municipal social defense secretary, administration, planning and finance secretary, as well as the CRAS, CREAS, and CAPS centers.

The training aims to change the institutional culture of welcoming victims, allowing for humanized service in cases where the person served belongs to a vulnerable group. The classes covered the history of crime and violence, human rights, concepts, causes, types, and legislation, including the Maria da Penha Law and the femicide law. The classes also instructed on protocols for acting and referring victims.

For the head of Segup, Ualame Machado, the training demonstrates the State's commitment to social action through security forces.

"This training promoted by Segup in Santa Izabel is a crucial step to ensure a more humanized and efficient service to vulnerable groups in our community. By investing in the training of our professionals, we are strengthening the social protection network and ensuring that all citizens receive the necessary support in times of difficulty. This is a commitment from the State Government to equality and social justice," he emphasized.

One of the participants, the Secretary of Social Defense of Santa Izabel, Helen Alves, believes that the training will indirectly impact the intersectoral work developed by the agency.

"It is a work that discusses in theory today the issue of vulnerability. We know how much we need to act on this. The municipality has a purpose of developing actions aimed precisely at this fragility, and we are always available. The municipality of Santa Isabel will be available to receive training in this way so that we can contribute every day to our citizens," she stated.

For the military from the 12th Battalion of the Military Police, Corporal Chiara Ribeiro, who works in São Izabel, the two days of training were enriching. "We cleared up doubts and are better prepared to provide good service to these groups, as well as we can now better understand the role of each institutional agency in each service," she highlighted.
