Money in School Program Changes the Reality of Educational Institutions in Pará
The resource turned an old dream into reality for the students of the Gabriel Sales Pimenta State Full-Time School

The Pará School Money Program (Prodep), an initiative of the State Government through the State Department of Education (Seduc), has already transferred over R$ 50 million to state schools in Pará in 2025 to ensure the development of the physical and pedagogical structure of the school community.
Prodep directly reflects on the quality of education and generates autonomy for managers, in partnership with the School Councils of the educational units, to manage the resources according to the needs of each educational institution. In Marabá, in the Carajás Integration Region, the Program has materialized and turned an old dream into reality for the more than 670 students enrolled in the three shifts of the Gabriel Sales Pimenta State Full-Time School, located in the Morada Nova neighborhood. The air conditioning of the space was a source of great joy and improvement in the educational performance of students, teachers, and staff.
For the head of the Regional Education Directorate of Marabá (DRE) of Marabá, Magno Barros, the program is of great importance, as it provides more quality, comfort, and convenience for everyone who works directly in schools, reflecting on pedagogical performance.

“It is a historic leap. The school councils have demonstrated agility and competence in applying these resources, and the results are already visible: the improvements are changing the face of our schools, bringing more dignity to students and staff,” explains Magno Barros.

Repercussion – For Carlos Henrique, a 17-year-old student, the installation of air conditioning in classrooms has significantly improved the study environment. “Before, students suffered from the heat and constantly sought to leave the room. Now, with the air-conditioned classrooms, concentration and learning have improved, with everyone preferring to stay inside the room to study.”
Another person who highlights these advances reflected by the program is the director of the educational unit, Paulo Fabrício Lima. Having been at the helm of the school for three years, he significantly evaluates the structural advancements.

“The Prodep resource is essential, as it gives autonomy to managers to administer this resource according to the needs of the school. So, what was once a dream is now a reality. All classrooms are air-conditioned now in the 2nd semester, as well as the administrative environments, teachers' room, and, mainly, prioritizing the quality of study and the quality of learning of our students,” summarizes the manager.
The English teacher, Francisco Balbino Sousa, has been working at the school since 2019 and reports that infrastructure problems directly affected student performance.
“Before, the school faced unfavorable teaching conditions; the classrooms were hot and the working conditions were unhealthy. With the installation of the air conditioning systems, there has been an improvement and more comfort, and logically, there is greater utilization of the quality of education.”
