'Happy Snack D-Day' relaxes hospitalization of patients at the Marajó Hospital in Breves
The action takes place every Friday, including this August 15th (the holiday of Pará's Adherence to Brazil's Independence), and ensures affection and welcome
With a focus on comprehensive care, the management of the Public Regional Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, in the Marajó archipelago, transforms the routine of its users who require longer hospital stays with the project "Happy Snack D-Day." The action takes place every Friday, including this August 15th (the holiday of Pará's Adherence to Brazil's Independence), and brings more than food: it delivers affection, welcome, and the human warmth that makes all the difference during hospitalization.
Affectionately prepared by the Nutrition and Dietetics Service (SND), each snack is designed to evoke memories, smiles, and comfort, making the hospital environment lighter and more humane. A small pause in the routine to remember that behind every technical care, there is a gesture of love.
One of the users benefited by the project was Márcia de Jesus Teles Pinheiro, 38 years old, who was hospitalized due to a kidney condition and reports having a good experience at HRPM, highlighting the attention and care of all the professionals who attend to her. "I am super satisfied. Since I arrived, I have been well treated. I thank God and the hospital professionals," she pointed out.
The housewife adds that the "Happy Snack D-Day" was a pleasant surprise, as she did not imagine that the care would include humanization projects like this. "I am happy, the snacks are delicious and super nutritious, it gave me more energy. Everyone was satisfied with this wonderful project. Every smile, gesture, and word are important for our daily life here," emphasized Márcia de Jesus Teles Pinheiro, who thanked the initiative.
The technical responsible (RT) for the Nutrition and Dietetics Service, nutritionist Renata Feio, explains that: "the 'Happy Snack D-Day' was an initiative of the SND to encompass long-term patients in the hospital. Every Friday, special snacks will be offered to patients who have not yet been discharged from the hospital due to their health conditions. This action aims to improve anxiety in the hospital environment, bringing comfort through food and enhancing the experience while providing warmth and well-being."
In the last edition, the hospital team distributed corn cake with coconut accompanied by juice. The action is aimed at users on oral diets, and all foods are carefully planned by the nutritionists, taking into account the health condition of each patient.
