Inova Sociobio continues with open registrations to strengthen sustainable sociobiodiversity initiatives
The call reinforces the opportunity for proposals from community enterprises of indigenous peoples, quilombolas, traditional communities, and family farmers (PIQCTAFs)

The Sustainable Amazon Foundation (FAS), under the Inova Sociobio project of the Government of Pará, continues with open registrations for the call for proposals that will allocate R$ 2.4 million to strengthen community enterprises of indigenous peoples, quilombolas, traditional communities, and family farmers (PIQCTAFs) based on productive chains of sociobiodiversity in the state. The submission of proposals, the complete call, attachments, the electronic form, and detailed information about the initiative are available on the website: fas-amazonia.org/inova/.
Organizations of civil society legally constituted for at least one year, with proven activity in Pará and an active and regular CNPJ, can participate. Associations, cooperatives (singular, central, federations, and confederations), as well as networks and other organizational forms representing PIQCTAFs are eligible. Documents sent by email or any other channel besides the FAS website will not be considered. Failure to present proof of active CNPJ at the time of submission will result in disqualification of the proposal.

"This action reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to a fair ecological transition that values traditional knowledge and promotes the protagonism of local communities. We are talking about a policy that not only recognizes but also enhances the sustainable practices developed for generations by these peoples, aligning development and environmental conservation," said Camille Bemerguy, Deputy Secretary of Bioeconomy of Semas.
The initiative is financially supported by the Financial Cooperation of Germany, through KfW bank, with resources from the Forest Standing Program. These investments complement the efforts of the Government of Pará to consolidate public policies aimed at valuing sociobioeconomy. The project is aligned with the main legal frameworks of the state, such as the State Policy on Climate Change (PEMC) and the State Plan Amazon Now (PEAA), which recognize bioeconomy as a strategic path to confront deforestation and promote climate justice.

With a submission deadline until August 11, 2025, the call for proposals represents a concrete opportunity for organizations to access financial resources to expand their actions, improve productive structures, innovate their processes, strengthen their organizational models, and promote training in the territories. Projects must combine traditional knowledge, environmental sustainability, income generation, and the valorization of standing forests.
The call will support projects with values between R$ 50 thousand and R$ 200 thousand, to be executed within 12 months. The submitted proposals must align with at least one of the four thematic axes presented in the call. It is mandatory that all proposals include at least one line of action from Axis I – Training and Technical Assistance. The other axes include Axis II – Adoption of technologies for climate resilience and environmental sustainability in productive processes; Axis III – Improvement of productive capacity: infrastructure and equipment; and Axis IV – Creation of Points of Innovation in Sociobioeconomy.

By supporting initiatives that connect sustainable production, innovation, and cultural identity, the Inova Sociobio call for proposals strengthens Sociobioeconomy, values the territories, and contributes to the preservation of the living forest and its peoples.
