The State Department of Education (Seduc), in partnership with Itaú Social, held a collaborative workshop on Tuesday (22) aimed at developing the new State Policy for Early Childhood Education. The meeting brought together representatives from various areas of Seduc, with the goal of reviewing and improving the document that guides the guidelines for early childhood education in the state.

The action is led by the Early Childhood Education Coordination (CEI) and aims to ensure that the new policy is updated, grounded, and aligned with the demands of society, ensuring more quality and equity from the earliest years of school life.

Integration between sectors and collaborative planning

"One of the main objectives of the meeting was to promote understanding among the different areas of Seduc, whether pedagogical, logistical, or infrastructure, about the fundamental role they play in building the State Policy for Early Childhood Education. Our purpose is to ensure the integral development of children and promote social equity from the earliest years of life," said Carla Reis, director of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education I.

During the workshop, the Change Theory methodology was also used, a tool that guides policy planning by defining problems, objectives, and necessary actions to achieve desired results.

"This is a very important moment, as the meeting aimed to bring together Seduc teams and other actors to discuss the vision of the state policy, that is, to define where we want to go. The Change Theory helps us build a collaborative vision among sectors, allowing the Department to start building effectively," highlighted Valdecy Nascimento, coordinator of Evaluation and Prospecting at Itaú Social.

Advances for quality and equity

The partnership between Seduc and Itaú Social represents a significant step towards strengthening early childhood education in Pará. The expectation is that, with the participation of various sectors and the use of collaborative methodologies, the new State Policy for Early Childhood Education will effectively contribute to the integral development of children, ensuring their rights and expanding educational equity throughout the state.
