Ideflor-Bio participates in citizenship and environmental actions in São Geraldo do Araguaia
The activities integrated inter-institutional efforts aimed at promoting rights and preserving the environment in areas of high tourist visitation

The Administrative Region Management of Araguaia (GRA) of the Institute for Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio) was present at two citizenship and environmental education actions held in the Ilha de Campo community, in the municipality of São Geraldo do Araguaia. The activities integrated inter-institutional efforts aimed at promoting rights and preserving the environment in areas of high tourist visitation.
The GRA team participated in the initiative "Conversation Circle and Rights," promoted by the Public Ministry of Pará (MPPA). The central theme of the action was human rights, with a special focus on the protection of women, children, adolescents, the elderly, and indigenous peoples. Conducted in a community dialogue format, the activity sought to bring public agencies closer to the local population and strengthen access to fundamental rights.

For one of the residents who participated in the conversation circle and environmental guidance, the action was enlightening and welcome. "It is important for us to know our rights and also understand how small actions can help keep the beach clean. Sometimes information is lacking, and these conversations help a lot," she emphasized.
Awareness - Ideflor-Bio also acted in an environmental action on the beaches of the Ilha de Campo and Vila Santa Cruz communities. The activity was carried out in partnership with the Municipal Health Department, through the Sanitary Surveillance, and aimed to raise awareness among residents and vacationers about the importance of proper solid waste disposal during the summer period.

The manager of the Araguaia Administrative Region of Ideflor-Bio, Laís Mercedes, highlighted the relevance of uniting environmental education and citizenship in territorial actions. "These activities promote an important connection with local communities, awakening collective awareness for care of the environment and the appreciation of social rights. It is work that strengthens the bond between public management and the population," she stated.
Guidance - In addition to distributing informational material, the teams provided direct guidance to the public, drawing attention to the impacts of waste on beaches and local ecosystems, especially in the preservation areas that are part of the Araguaia territory. The presence of public agencies was well received by residents, who showed interest in maintaining dialogue and collaborating with sustainable practices.
