In the first half of the year, the State guarantees 'Sua Casa' for more than 1,900 families in the Metropolitan Region
The Program, created during the government of Helder Barbalho in 2019, changes the reality of families in vulnerable situations

An essential public policy for the quality of life of the population, "Sua Casa", a housing program created and maintained by the Government of Pará since 2019, through the Housing Company of Pará (Cohab), benefited 1,902 in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB) alone in the first half of this year.
For the president of Cohab, Manoel Pioneiro, the delivery of benefits transforms the social reality of families throughout the vast territory of Pará, "allowing them to build, renovate, or expand their homes, bringing dignity to those who need it most."
The Sua Casa Program guarantees resources for the construction, renovation, expansion, improvement, or adaptation of housing units, and also for hiring the professional who will carry out the service. The amount released for each family, in two installments, can reach R$ 21,000.

Essential support - The benefit is granted, primarily, to victims of disasters and natural calamities. Among the beneficiaries is Rosemary Nunes Rayol, who lost part of her house during a storm on Mosqueiro Island, a district of Belém. In a difficult moment, she received support from the state government. “It was very sad to see our house completely roofless and cracked. My husband earns less than a minimum wage. We had no way to rebuild. But now, with this check, I know we will make it. We are very grateful for the help,” says Rosemary.
In Ananindeua, the domestic worker Francisca Carvalho, one of the beneficiaries, reports that her wooden house is at risk of collapsing. “Its stability is terrible, and I am going to build a new house to give myself and my children more dignity,” informs Francisca.
Since its creation, the Sua Casa Program has already ensured housing improvements for about 44,000 families in the RMB. Throughout Pará, more than 120,000 homes have already been transformed by the Program, which serves families in vulnerable situations.
