The State University of Pará (Uepa), through the Pro-Rectorate of Extension (Proex) and the Coordination of the Degree in Letters - English Language, announces the opening of registrations for the Free Language Courses 2025-2, offering vacancies for the internal and external community. Registrations will be open from July 16 to July 31, 2025, aiming to develop communicative and intercultural skills in English and Spanish, as well as to promote access to knowledge of these languages for the population.

The courses aim to integrate the university community and the general public, with in-person and online classes. To learn more details about specific requirements, complete schedule, class times, and necessary documentation, interested parties should read the full notice 76-2025, available here, published on www.uepa.br.

Initially, nine classes will be offered in the second semester of 2025, including regular in-person courses in English (levels 1, 2, and 3) and Spanish (levels 1 and 2). For flexibility, there will also be classes with live online lessons in English (levels 1 and 2), and a preparatory course for proficiency tests in English for master's and doctoral programs (instrumental English), in the same modality. The regular classes focus on the development of integrated skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, while the instrumental English course concentrates on reading and interpreting texts for academic purposes. The minimum age for interested parties is 16 years.

Each class will have 25 vacancies, with 20 allocated to paying students and 5 full scholarship spots exclusively for Uepa staff. The course operates on a self-sustaining model, with an investment of R$ 70.00 for enrollment and four monthly installments of R$ 70.00, covering expenses with instructors and teaching materials.

The instructors are selected students from the Degree in Letters - English Language at Uepa for English classes, and students from the Bachelor's Degree in Trilingual Executive Secretariat, International Relations, and Technologist in Foreign Trade for Spanish classes, all under faculty supervision. The vacancies will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and upon correct submission of the requested documentation.

Classes will start from August 28, 2025, for online classes, August 23 for Saturday/in-person classes, and August 27 for Wednesday/in-person classes, with an expected end date of December 13, 2025. The in-person classes will be held on the campus of the Center for Social Sciences and Education (CCSE) of Uepa, and access links for the online classes will be sent via email. To pass and receive the certificate, a minimum attendance of 75% of the total workload and a minimum final average of 7.0 are required.
