More than 160 thousand students from the state network return to classes this Monday (14)
With a special calendar due to COP 30 in Belém, students from the RMB returned to classrooms for the start of the second semester of the 2025 school year

The reunions of students are usually lively when returning to classes. It is the moment to see classmates again and resume the study routine after a period of rest. The school year in Belém was altered due to COP 30 (30th Conference of the United Nations on Climate Change), so on this Monday (14), about 168 thousand students from the state network returned to schools in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB). In other municipalities in Pará, the vacation period ends normally on the next July 30.
Because of COP 30, school vacations, both in public and private networks, in Belém and the aforementioned municipalities, were divided into two periods: the first from June 30 to July 13, and the second from November 5 to 21, the latter coinciding with the holding of COP30 in Belém in November this year.

At the State School Augusto Montenegro, in the Telégrafo neighborhood of Belém, student Arlindo Nascimento, from the 7th grade of Elementary School, says that the vacation was great and returning to the school routine is also good. "I liked the vacation and also this break from the norm in returning now. It is being different and it is good to change. For me, everything that is already here at school is good, the interaction with my classmates, with everyone in the class, teachers, and I want this second semester to continue like this," he said.
At the State School Vera Simplício, also in the Telégrafo neighborhood, teacher Jorge Vieira emphasizes that the school community returns with focus and determination for this second semester. "We returned from atypical vacations and we are ready for the second semester, capable and focused on our Saeb test, determined to achieve much more than our own goal, because our students have potential, the school has quality, has resources and we are here for that, to make a difference and do better and better," emphasized the educator.

In Ananindeua, students from the State School Professora Isabel Amazonas, in the Industrial District neighborhood, arrived full of expectations. "My expectation for this second semester is good. We want to achieve good results in the tests and I hope we can meet all our goals for this year. We are dedicating ourselves to that," said 7th grade elementary student Jhoranna Avelar.
"This morning we restarted our educational activities and the expectations are the best possible for this second semester. We have already continued the preparation for the Saeb test that will take place in October, and COP 30 is also just around the corner. So our expectation for the semester is high, given the number of activities we have and we are all with the same goal," commented director Sandra Prado of the State School Professora Isabel Amazonas.
Second vacation period - The second vacation period for the state network in Belém, Ananindeua, and Marituba will take place from November 5 to 21. The State Department of Education (Seduc) emphasizes that the school calendar for 2025 will end on December 18 for all nearly 500 thousand students in the public network of Pará.
