In July, students from the Carlos Gomes Foundation's Interiorization Project held special presentations in the municipalities of Ponta de Pedras, Santa Cruz do Arari, and Marabá, marking the end of teaching activities for the first semester of the year. In addition to the semester conclusion in the participating municipalities' hubs, a band practice workshop was also held in the city of Acará.

Classes – The interiorization project carried out by the Carlos Gomes Foundation focuses on musical education for children, youth, and professional musicians from bands in the municipalities of the interior of the State. In July, the pedagogical activities of the Marajó hubs – Ponta de Pedras and Santa Cruz do Arari - and the Marabá hub concluded with recitals, thus finalizing the music activities of the first semester. According to teacher Mikaely Lima, "this semester, students learned the first notes on the recorder, with an introduction to basic theoretical music topics such as the pre-visibility of reading sheet music."

“In the second half of the year, we will continue with technical music studies, deepening practical and theoretical teaching, and we will also open new student classes, with a date to be defined,” says Mikaely, teacher of the first recorder class at the Marabá hub.

The conclusion of the first academic semester is of great importance for students and teachers, as it is when the classes can present the work they have been developing in musicalization classes, such as knowledge of musical notes, sheet music reading, choral singing, among other learnings focused on musical education.

Alexandra Martins, director of interiorization at FCG, explains that, “the end of classes in the hubs is anticipated by everyone, as we can see the materialization of the musical education that our institution provides for the children served in the municipalities where we work.”

“From the free musicalization classes (choral singing, recorder, and guitar), specific knowledge of musical literacy is taught, necessary for students to continue in music in the future,” emphasizes Alexandra.

Currently, FCG offers regular musicalization classes in the municipalities of Marabá and Castanhal, and in the Marajó archipelago, which are divided into conducting workshops and training in the integration regions of Pará. In July, 35 students from Ponta de Pedras, 25 students from Santa Cruz do Arari, and 16 from the Marabá class held the semester concluding recital. In addition to these, 88 students from the Castanhal hub classes also completed their music studies for the first part of the year in May.

Interaction – In addition to the hubs' headquarters, the Carlos Gomes Foundation also promoted, at the beginning of July, the band practice workshop taught by trombone professor Denison Pastana, who is part of the teaching staff of the Carlos Gomes State Institute. “During the event, I taught students about essential points of symphonic groups such as: structure and assembly of music bands, rehearsal dynamics (individual and by section), as well as knowledge about repertoire and study routines,” comments Professor Denison.

“We had 60 participants from the municipalities of Acará and other locations, the event was a success and had the partnership of the Caminhos do Alvorecer Institute and the Acará city hall,” informs Professor Denison. The Carlos Gomes Foundation's interiorization project carries out different actions focused on music such as workshops with conductors and musicians from bands, regular musicalization classes at the peace factories, presentations, and masterclasses with teachers from the Carlos Gomes State Institute.
