Between July 7 and 12 (Monday to Saturday), the Government of Pará is carrying out an intersectoral action of technical support to the Unified Social Assistance System (Suas) aimed at the peoples of the Parakanã Indigenous Land, in the Paranowauna and Paranatinga villages, which serve as a base in the municipality of Novo Repartimento, in southeastern Pará, which is part of the Marabá-Tucuruí ethnoregion. The objective of the initiative was to strengthen indigenous peoples' access to social rights and essential citizenship services.

Until Saturday, several services are offered in the Parakanã Indigenous Land

The action, coordinated by the State Secretariat for Indigenous Peoples (Sepi), is partnered with the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, Labor, Employment and Income (Seaster), the Municipal Secretariat for Social Assistance, the National Foundation for Indigenous Peoples (Funai), the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment of Novo Repartimento, and the National Public Security Force (FNSP).

The program offers various services, such as access to the Unified Registry (CadÚnico), issuance and updating of CPF, creation and recovery of Gov.br accounts, as well as basic education services, which are fundamental for keeping children and young people in social programs, such as the Bolsa Família, from the federal government.

In the Paranowauna and Paranatinga villages, the following were carried out:

• Services in CadÚnico, with new registrations, updates, and domicile transfers;
• Educational services, with issuance of school declarations, and
• Issuance of CPF and regularization and updating of registration with the Federal Revenue.

“These services are important for us here in the Territory. We updated our documents, and this guarantees our rights,” said Taí Parakanã, from the Parakanã people.

The activities respected the social organization and protocols of the Parakanã People, who have inhabited the region since the 1980s, after the flooding of their original territories with the construction of the Tucuruí Hydroelectric Plant.

Indigenous Peoples - The Parakanã belong to the Tupi-Guarani linguistic family and live traditionally with little interaction with non-indigenous people, maintaining deep ties to their Territory and ways of life. The action sought to ensure that access to public policies is guaranteed without disrespecting the cultural autonomy of the community.

The presence of federal, state, and municipal agencies ensured the necessary technical support to resolve documentation issues, provide guidance on social programs, and strengthen ties between public services and indigenous territories.

Commitment - “I, along with our secretary Puyr Tembé, have been working tirelessly to ensure that the rights of the indigenous peoples of our State can be fulfilled and respected. These actions are fundamental to ensure that public policies can reach the grassroots, guaranteeing social inclusion,” stated Wiratan Sompré, deputy secretary of Indigenous Peoples of Pará.

Sepi works continuously to expand the State's presence in hard-to-reach areas and ensure that the fundamental rights of indigenous peoples are respected. The action in Novo Repartimento reinforces this commitment by promoting citizenship, dignity, and recognition of the diversity of the indigenous peoples of Pará.
