The Government of Pará, through the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, delivered equipment for the State Military Police on the morning of this Wednesday, 9th. Among the items are 4,400 Beretta pistols, 4,000 ballistic vests, and also, 1,000 transceiver radios. The total investment amounts to nearly 20 million reais, sourced from the State Public Security Fund (Fesp), managed by Segup.

The acquisitions made for the State aim to strengthen the actions developed by the Military Police, ensuring greater efficiency during patrols and rounds conducted by police teams, as well as providing greater safety to agents during the ostensive activities carried out by the corporation.

Governor Helder Barbalho presided over the delivery and highlighted the investment as being of fundamental importance for military police officers who deal daily with combating crime on the streets.

“Today we are delivering about 20 million reais in investments for public safety in Pará, particularly to the State Military Police, which will have more strategic and important reinforcement for ostensive activities and the fight against crime throughout the Pará territory. We are delivering what is most modern in the offer of armament in this model, worldwide, with product quality, price quality. We also have ballistic vests to protect and ensure working conditions for our military, as well as 1,000 HP radios, which allows us to integrate security forces with technology, connectivity, and communication, enabling efficiency and strategy in the fight against crime. I would also like to highlight that these investments are part of an important strategy that results in the continued numbers of reduction of violent crime in the State of Pará. Today, Pará is a reference throughout Brazil in combating violent crime. The effective strategies of the public security team have proven to be absolutely successful, ensuring actions that provide more peace for our population,” said Helder Barbalho.

The Secretary of Public Security of the State, Ualame Machado, explains that this is another delivery from the State Public Security Fund, which has been enabling important acquisitions for the security forces of Pará, especially the Military Police, which gains, among others, the renewal of vests and pistols to improve daily operations in combating crime.

“Pará is one of the states that has invested the most in public safety throughout Brazil, being recognized by all studies that address the area. In light of this, we are making a delivery to the Military Police of nearly 20 million reais, which represents 4,400 new weapons, 4,000 new ballistic vests, in addition to 1,000 radios that will help in communication between the police forces interacting in the State. And this represents an investment of more than 85 million reais in public safety in this semester alone, demonstrating that public safety is a priority of this Government,” emphasized the head of Segup.

The Commander-General of the State Military Police, Col. Dilson Júnior, also emphasized the importance of the equipment and their assistance during police activities. “With this acquisition of more than 4,000 pistols, we completed the entire replacement of the Military Police's armament, which began back in 2020, when we made the first acquisitions. With all this apparatus, the State Government serves as an example for other States, not only in reducing crime but also showing the competence of its technical staff when it manages to acquire products of extreme quality, recognized worldwide. Today we also signed the service order for our Military Police Health Fund, which is a fund that can implement the entire health policy strategy, not only for military police officers but also for military firefighters. After 47 years, we will have our own headquarters for the Health Fund, and this is of utmost importance, as we will provide quality health assistance to the server, and thus reverberate with excellent work for the population,” highlighted the Commander-General of the PM.

Deliveries and signing - During the event, held at Hangar - Amazon Conventions and Fairs, 4,400 .40 Beretta APX pistols, 4,000 ballistic vests, and 1,000 Motorola APX 900 digital transceiver radios were delivered, totaling nearly 20 million reais. The action reinforces the strategic planning of the Military Police, which has intensified the re-equipping of the troops throughout the State.

At the delivery ceremony, the State Governor also signed the service order for the construction of the headquarters of the Military Servants Health Fund (Funsau) in the city of Belém. The new unit will serve as support for health care for military police officers and military firefighters, aiming to ensure better health assistance for public security servers.
