PMPA intensifies visibility at Ajuruteua beach during Operation Summer 2025

With the arrival of July and the significant increase in tourist flow in the Bragantina Region, the Military Police of Pará (PMPA) has intensified its ostensive and preventive policing actions at Ajuruteua beach, located in the municipality of Bragança, as part of Operation Summer 2025. The goal is to ensure a safe leisure environment for residents and visitors looking to enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the State.
The reinforcement of military personnel from other units to the 33rd Military Police Battalion (33rd BPM), the unit responsible for ostensive actions in the area, is concentrated especially on the new waterfront, which is about 700 meters long and a major tourist attraction. In addition to the ostensive presence, the military's actions also include guidance to the public and support to other state and municipal inspection agencies.

For the merchants on the waterfront, the reinforcement of public safety represents an important differential. According to João Antônio, a street vendor for over 11 years in the region, the presence of the Military Police helps create a more attractive environment for tourists. "With more security, people feel comfortable to stroll, bring their families, and this increases the movement here on the waterfront. For us who work with sales, it makes all the difference. It's good for everyone,” he commented.
Ajuruteua beach is located approximately 36 kilometers from the center of Bragança and about 213 km from Belém, accessible via the BR-316, PA-242, and PA-458 highways. The journey from the capital to the beach can be made in about 3 hours and 30 minutes by car, making it an attractive option for vacationers seeking leisure and tranquility.

More security on the beach and in the city
“The 33rd Military Police Battalion receives 40 military police officers to reinforce policing in Operation Summer 2025, including 12 military police officers for Ajuruteua and 28 for Bragança. The operational planning provided for motorized, foot, and motorcycle policing to enhance security at the main tourist spots and areas with high pedestrian traffic such as the new waterfront of Ajuruteua and Bragança, as well as various squares in the city. Additionally, the reinforcement will act at events that are part of the programming for the 412th anniversary of Bragança: national and regional shows and the inauguration of relevant public spaces by the State Government and the Municipal City Hall,” explained the Commander of the 33rd BPM, Colonel André.

Operation Summer continues until August 6, employing more than 7,000 military police officers throughout the period and maintaining a focus on crime prevention and the preservation of public order in over 50 locations across the Pará territory.
