Empodera+ Program registers residents of the Guajará Integration Region until Friday
Project resulting from the collaboration between the State and the Federal Government aims to promote inclusion and independence for people in the LGBTQIA+ community
The State Secretariat for Racial Equality and Human Rights (Seirdh), in partnership with the Federal Government, is accepting registrations for the Empodera+ Program until next Friday (27). The initiative, which offers 100 scholarships, aims to ensure decent work, education, and income generation for the LGBTQIA+ community. Still in its initial phase in Pará, the Program allocates spots for residents in situations of social vulnerability in the Guajará Integration Region, which includes the municipalities of Belém, Ananindeua, Benevides, Marituba, and Santa Bárbara do Pará.
The Empodera+ not only facilitates access and advancement in professional careers but also supports free income generation. According to the Program's coordinator in the State, Ariel Carvalho, the initiative was created to address the structural inequalities affecting the LGBTQIA+ population, serving as a space for welcome, empowerment, and opportunity, where each person can develop their potential with dignity and respect.

“This public policy is an important milestone for our region and integrates the actions of the National Employability Strategy for the LGBTQIA+ Population, coordinated by the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship (MDHC), which seeks to promote dignified access to work and income for those who have historically had their rights denied,” emphasized Ariel Carvalho.
