Sefa seizes 115 bales of clothing and 50 tons of soy
State tax auditors issued Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs) related to taxes and fines amounting to nearly R$ 164 thousand

State tax auditors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) seized, on Monday (23), 115 bales of clothing, valued at R$ 411,000.00, which were being transported without an invoice, hidden among a load of cleaning products. The officials are assigned to the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in Gurupi, in Cachoeira do Piriá, northeast of the State.
“The driver presented invoices for cleaning products and the inspection requested the opening of the truck for a physical inspection of the load. The driver informed that the load was sealed, but the truck was only secured with a padlock. The truck was taken to the depot for inspection and 115 bales of clothing, including men's and women's clothing, perfumes, bags, sandals, dresses, and underwear, were found hidden, without an invoice,” said the coordinator of the tax unit, Gustavo Bozola.
The total value of the load was assessed at R$ 411,000.00 and two Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs) were issued for a total of R$ 145,363.30, related to tax and fines.

Carajás - On the same day, during an inspection carried out by state tax auditors in the southeast of the State, 50 tons of soy, valued at R$ 112,908.25, were seized, coming from Santa Maria das Barreiras destined for the municipality of Paragominas. The seizure occurred at the Carajás Railway tax post in Marabá.
“After document analysis and cross-referencing information in Sefa's systems, it was verified that, although the invoice indicated Paragominas as the destination, the invoice and transport documents indicated the municipality of São Luís-MA as the delivery location, which disqualifies the operation as internal and characterizes it as interstate, subject to the advance payment of ICMS,” explained the unit coordinator, Cicinato Oliveira.
A Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued, with a total value of R$ 18,598.91.
