During an agenda in the municipality of Abaetetuba, on the morning of this Wednesday (18), Vice Governor Hana Ghassan delivered 673 land titles intended for 26 communities.

The guarantee of land regularization is executed through the Institute of Lands of Pará (Iterpa) and the Housing Company of Pará (Cohab), for rural workers, aiming at legal security over their properties.

The vice governor highlighted the importance of regularization and the encouragement of production in our state.

“It is very important for us to be able to meet the population with what they need. The delivery of titles, which is the citizen's right, who built their dream, built their life on that land and is now receiving a definitive title that will help them to obtain credit, to increase the production of their land more and more. And what we want is that. The state government has this mission to encourage, promote, not only production but also people, especially those who need it the most. So it is a day of great joy for us to be making these deliveries that we know will make a difference in people's lives,” emphasized the vice governor.

The benefit will be directed to the communities of Anapu, Bom Sossego, Camotim, Camurituba Beira, Camurituba Centro, Colônia Nova, Estrada Velha de Beja, Ipiranga, Maúba, Murutunga, Piquituba, Piroqueira, Ramal Bom Futuro, Ramal Camurituba Baixo, Ramal Deus Proverá, Ramal do Abaetezinho, Ramal do Tocão, Ramal Ipixuna, Ramal Tijucaquara, Santa Maria de Ipixuna, Santa Terezinha, São José do Palhal, Vila Aguapé, Vila do Cupuaçu and Palhal.

Mr. Pedro Chaves, an electronics technician, is a resident of the Colônia Velha community and had been waiting for over 20 years for the dream of having his land documented. “Look, this represents a great victory. I am very happy because I bought this little piece of land over 20 years ago, just with a receipt, but not as formal as this one I am receiving today. I have a document proving that it is mine. I am very happy,” reinforced the beneficiary.

The work of land regularization helps to combat violence in the countryside, illegal deforestation, and land grabbing, thus promoting sustainable development and improving the quality of life for people who live and work in rural areas. Mrs. Joselina Abreu Rodrigues celebrates the document and the guarantee of her land.

“My profession is making flour in the field and I got this land title because it is security for my farm. I am from the Palhal community and have waited for this for over 30 years. I am very happy to have the land title and with this document in hand, no one can interfere with my land,” said Joselita.

From 2019 to 2025, 1,909 land titles have already been delivered to Abaetetuba, making it the 3rd municipality to receive the most land regularization in the state.

The municipal manager, Francineti Carvalho, reinforces that regularization “is the legal security of these people and the possibility of registering for financing,” she said.

Iterpa offers different modalities of land regularization, with the non-costly (donation) aimed at low-income individuals who occupy a territory of up to 100 hectares for at least one year and whose main economic activity is the exploration of the property for agricultural purposes.

The request for non-costly regularization must be filled out and signed by the applicant and their spouse/partner, indicating the total area occupied and the municipality of the possession's location.
