Discount of up to 15% on IPVA: deadline for license plates ending 76 to 96 goes until June 2
Vehicle owners can choose between payment with a discount, in installments, or on the date of licensing. The benefit is only valid for those without traffic fines.

The Secretary of Finance of Pará (Sefa) informs that vehicle owners with license plates ending in 76 to 96 have until June 2 to pay the Tax on the Ownership of Motor Vehicles (IPVA) with discounts of up to 15%. The advantage is valid only for taxpayers who do not have traffic fines.
The 15% discount is granted to drivers who have been without infractions for two years. Those who have not received fines in the last year are guaranteed a 10% discount. In other situations, the applied discount is 5%.
Currently, the IPVA in Pará can be paid in three ways:
- Early payment in a single installment, with the right to a discount;
- Payment in up to three installments, before the due date, without a discount;
- Full payment at the time of annual licensing with the State Department of Transit (Detran).
After the due date, the tax will be charged with additional interest and fines.
To check the IPVA amount and issue the State Collection Document (DAE), simply access the Sefa website: www.sefa.pa.gov.br. Payment can be made via PIX or using the barcode at authorized banks (Banpará, Basa, Bradesco, Banco do Brasil, Santander, Itaú, and Caixa Econômica Federal), as well as at lottery houses.
The IPVA rate in the state is:
- 2.5% for cars, trucks, and recreational or sports vessels that are not for commercial purposes;
- 1% for buses, minibuses, trucks, mechanical horses, motorcycles, and similar vehicles.
Vehicles older than 15 years are exempt from payment. Boats and aircraft must pay the tax by June 30.
