The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Planning and Administration (Seplad), will hold public hearings in the municipalities of Marabá, Santarém, and Belém during the first half of June, with the aim of reviewing the Multiannual Plan (PPA) 2024-2027 and preparing the Annual Budget Law (LOA) 2026. The hearings are fundamental moments of dialogue with society, allowing decisions about the future of Pará to be built collectively, democratically, and transparently.

The first hearing will be held in Marabá, in the southeast of the State, next Tuesday (3). Following that, the listening cycle will move to Santarém, in the western region, on June 10, and will conclude in the capital Belém on June 12.

“The Government of Pará will begin the process of public hearings for the preparation of the LOA 2026, in addition to working on the PPA review process, which was prepared in 2023 and is valid from 2024 to 2027. It is important to remember that the State Government's PPA prioritizes the regionalization of its actions, so that we can understand what the actual demands of each region, each territory are, and outline the structure of the Government as a whole, so that all the secretariats and agencies responsible for executing public policies can better measure the needs and apply resources more efficiently and effectively to meet all these demands,” highlighted Socorro Castro, director of Strategic Planning at Seplad.

People in other municipalities in the State or who cannot attend the hearings in person will be able to follow the meetings live through Seplad's YouTube channel.

The Multiannual Plan (PPA) is the main medium-term planning instrument of the state government. It defines, for a period of four years, the programs, actions, and goals that guide the development of the state and the execution of public policies. The Annual Budget Law (LOA) details, each year, how much and where the State will invest public resources, based on the priorities defined in the PPA. In other words, while the PPA outlines the paths the government wants to follow, the LOA organizes the budget so that these paths become reality.

These public hearings are important because they ensure that planning is done with the active participation of the population, as it is the moment when citizens, community leaders, representatives of social organizations, and municipal managers can present their proposals, demand improvements, and directly contribute to defining the State's priorities.

The population can contribute directly to the construction of public policies of the State in a simple and quick way, through the Citizen Planning website, from June 3 to 20.

With these actions, the Government of Pará reaffirms its commitment to transparency, active listening, and strengthening participatory democracy. Enabling each public investment to have a real impact on the lives of Pará citizens and contribute to a fairer, more balanced, and developed Pará in all its regions.
