During an inspection carried out on May 26, at the tax post of the State Department of Finance (Sefa) in Marabá, state revenue inspectors, linked to the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Carajás, in the southeast of the State, seized 248 tires from Itajaí (SC), destined for the municipality of Breu Branco, southeastern Pará.

“During the document analysis, the inspection team found that the taxpayer, as a tax substitute, failed to withhold and correctly collect the ICMS Tax Substitution due to the State of Pará. The tax due was incorrectly highlighted,” explained the unit coordinator, Cicinato Oliveira.

In light of the irregularity, a single Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up, covering three invoices, with goods valued at R$ 295,978.26. The total amount assessed, including ICMS and fines, was R$ 112,306.00.

Kart Engines Seized in Dom Eliseu

On the previous day, May 25, state revenue inspectors from Sefa, stationed at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Itinga, in Dom Eliseu, northeastern Pará, seized 14 kart engines valued at R$ 28,000.00. The goods were from Paragominas, southeastern Pará, and were destined for the city of Caxias do Sul (RS).

“The goods were returning to the establishment of origin supported by a return demonstration tax document. However, the following irregularities were found: excess goods without proper tax documentation and absence of complete return of those that were sent. This resulted in the ICMS being charged on a new kart vehicle and two used ones, which together total R$ 75,000.00,” informed Rafael Brasil, coordinator of the Itinga tax unit.

A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 12,600.00, corresponding to the tax regularization of the operation, including the tax due and the respective fine.
