Through the Regulariza Pará program, the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainability of Pará (Semas) completed, last week, service drives for analysis, validation, and delivery of the Rural Environmental Registration (CAR) in the municipalities of Igarapé-Miri and Cametá, in northeastern Pará.

The joint actions benefited 145 rural properties, with 65 men and 46 women in Igarapé-Miri and 75 men and 58 women in Cametá. In total, the drives covered an area of positive impact of over 3,187.4652 hectares.

The goal is to regularize the lands so that each producer can carry out economic activities safely and legally, in addition to ensuring benefits such as credit lines for those working in the field.

"The advancement of rural environmental regularization in the State is evident. We are pioneers in conducting drives for the regularization of family farming, in delivering collective CARs for quilombolas, Peaex and Resex, from the CAR Lot for settlers of Incra, as well as in the municipalization of CAR analysis, in the simplified methodology for CAR validation, in the automation of registration analysis, and in the delivery of CAR with payment for environmental services. This has increasingly translated into adherence to the Environmental Regularization Program (PRA) and commitments to restoration linked to the agenda of environmental adequacy of rural properties," says the Deputy Secretary of Environmental Management and Regularity of Semas, Rodolpho Zahluth Bastos.

In the municipality of Igarapé-Miri, the program took place on May 13 and 14. During the drive, 75 properties were attended to, directly benefiting 75 men and 58 women, representing an impact on an approximate area of 1,302.5059 hectares.

Maria Auxiliadora Ribeiro Fonseca, a resident of Igarapé-Miri, highlighted the importance of participating in the drive and that the activity represents an important step in combating deforestation and valuing sustainable practices.

"Participating in this government program, with the support of the city hall, was a very important action in the environmental area. We closely experience the concern with deforestation, which has already affected communities near ours. Therefore, initiatives like this are valuable because they bring clarification and reinforce the importance of preservation. Last year, we felt the impacts of climate change; the excessive heat affected our crops, especially fruit trees and açaí palms, both new and old. That’s why I believe that actions like this help us better understand the responsibility we have towards the environment," highlighted the producer.

In the communities of Ponta Grande and Carapajó, located in the municipality of Cametá, the services took place on May 15 and 16. The action verified 69 rural properties, directly benefiting 65 men and 46 women, with an impact on an approximate area of 1,884.9593 hectares.

The initiatives counted on the collaboration of the city halls, the Municipal Secretariats of Agriculture, Economic Development and Livestock (SEMAP), and the Municipal Secretariats of the Environment (SEMMA) of both municipalities. The action also had the support of the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of Pará (Emater) and the Rural Workers' Unions of Cametá and Igarapé-Miri (STTR).

Forest + Amazon: In addition to regularization, during the drive, producers also received assistance regarding the Forest + Amazon project from the federal government, which offers financial incentives to small rural producers through Payment for Environmental Services (PSA). The initiative benefits family farmers at different stages of regularization in the Rural Environmental Registration, covering the municipalities participating in Phases 1 and 2 of the program.

Registrations for Forest + Amazon are open until June 30, 2025. Interested parties can access the announcement and obtain more information through the link:
