The municipality of Benevides, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, will have, starting this Friday (16), a new reference in services and opportunity generation for the population, with the arrival of the new Usina da Paz. This will be the 13th unit of the project, a national reference in promoting citizenship and combating violence, delivered by the Government of Pará.

With a modern structure, the new UsiPaz Benevides arrives to transform the lives of thousands of residents in the region, offering more than 70 free services in fundamental areas for social transformation.

Located on Avenida Martinho Monteiro, in the Murinim district, the new state citizenship complex arrives with state-of-the-art equipment and structured spaces, aimed at carrying out activities in education, culture, sports, social assistance, professional training, and services in health and citizenship.

For the residents nearby, the expectation for the delivery of the new Usina is high, as stated by merchant Maria Perpétua Moreira, who lives right in front of the new public facility.

“The new Usina will greatly improve our lives. It will be a very good thing, not only for the people of Benevides but also for Benfica, Santa Maria, and here in Murinim (district). My husband and I are elderly, and often have difficulties getting out of here to go to the medical post, so we hope to be very welcome in this place, just like the entire population,” declared the resident.

“The delivery of the Usina da Paz in Benevides represents a very important step in the commitment that the State Government has to social transformation. This space represents hope, care, and investment in people. A place where dreams will become reality, with free access to education, culture, sports, citizenship, and dignity. We are very proud to see Benevides receive this structure, which will positively impact the lives of thousands of families,” said the State Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, Elieth Braga.

Public Security - The new Usina da Paz will also be an important tool in combating violence, as highlighted by the head of the State Secretariat of Public Security (Segup), Ualame Machado.

“In public security, policing is fundamental; however, more than that, it is also extremely important that the State is always present with the population. The Usina da Paz in Benevides will certainly bring the same results as the other plants already installed in Pará, with a reduction in crime, inclusion of people, and generation of jobs and income, so that we can increasingly provide security to our population. Certainly, Benevides will experience a new era,” emphasized the head of Segup.

Usinas da Paz - The Usinas da Paz are citizenship complexes implemented by the State Government to promote social inclusion, reduce violence, and improve the quality of life of the population in vulnerable areas of the State.

The project is part of the Territories for Peace program (TerPaz). Since 2021, with the delivery of the first Usina da Paz, the citizenship complexes have already guaranteed more than 9.3 million services.

Currently, 12 Usinas are already in full operation in Belém (Jurunas/Condor, Guamá, Terra Firme, Bengui, and Cabanagem); in the municipalities of Ananindeua, Marituba, and Castanhal, in the Metropolitan Region; Abaetetuba, in the Lower Tocantins, and Marabá, Parauapebas, and Canaã dos Carajás, in southeastern Pará.

Only in 2025, the State has already delivered the Usinas da Paz in Castanhal, Marabá, and Abaetetuba, directly benefiting more than 616,000 people.

More Usinas - Another 24 new UsiPaz are under construction in the cities of Altamira, Bragança, Cametá, Paragominas, Tucuruí, Santa Izabel do Pará, Capanema, Redenção, Itaituba, Santarém, Viseu, Igarapé-Miri, Barcarena, Breves, Dom Eliseu, São Miguel do Guamá, Portel, Moju, Parauapebas (second Usina), Óbidos, Salinópolis, Tomé-Açu, São Félix do Xingu, and Belém, in the Icoaraci district.
