On the morning of this Thursday (15), the teams from the Directorate of Assistance to Vulnerable Groups (DAV) and the Police Intelligence Center (NIP) launched the operational phase of the "Safe Paths" operation, aiming to execute several arrest warrants issued against suspects of serious crimes committed against children and adolescents, mostly sexual crimes.

"The actions occurred simultaneously in Belém and in other municipalities of the Metropolitan Region. All warrants were executed, and the targets located were arrested and taken to the Division of Adolescent Assistance. Other targets are being monitored by the investigation and intelligence teams, so the operation continues so that we can fulfill the arrests," explained Delegate Emanuela Amorim, director of DAV.

The Safe Paths Operation is a national mobilization coordinated by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), aimed at addressing, in an articulated and qualified manner, child and adolescent sexual violence. The action takes place in reference to May 18, National Day for the Combat of Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents.

The men arrested today were taken to the Division of Adolescent Assistance (DATA/Belém) for legal procedures, including the registration of occurrence reports and requests for forensic examinations.

"The MJSP's Safe Paths operation began on April 30 of this year. Since then, more than 15 men involved in sexual crimes against children and adolescents have been arrested throughout Pará. The action continues until the end of May to fulfill other arrest warrants," concluded the delegate.

The Civil Police reaffirms its commitment to the protection of childhood and adolescence and remains dedicated to locating the other targets and holding accountable the perpetrators of these sensitive crimes.
