Seirdh opens registrations for the 4th State Conference on the Rights of LGBTQIA+ People
The deadline starts this Monday (12), and interested parties can register until May 23 via email. The event will take place on June 27 and 28.

The State Secretariat for Racial Equality and Human Rights (SEIRDH) opened, this Monday (12), registrations for the 4th State Conference on the Rights of LGBTQIA+ People. The event, conceived in partnership with the Sexual Diversity Council (CEDS), aims to be an important space for listening, debate, and the construction of effective public policies for the community. Those interested in participating can check the complete program and register for free until May 23, through the official link.
This year, the Conference will be held on June 27 and 28, at the David Mufarrej auditorium, at the University of the Amazon (Unama). Held as a preparatory stage for the 4th National Conference, this meeting is expected to gather representatives from the public power, civil society in general, and the LGBTQIA+ population.

The agenda will focus on advances, challenges, and proposals for concrete solutions so that the specificities of this community in Pará are reflected in the guidelines that will guide the National Policy on the Rights of LGBTQIA+ People.
Importance for inclusive public policy
The secretary of Seirdh, Edilza Fontes, points out that this event is a fundamental space for building a fairer and more inclusive Pará. "The rights of the entire population need to be guaranteed. This is a crucial opportunity for diverse voices from the LGBTQIA+ population to be heard, so that together we can build paths for a fairer and more respectful society," says the head.
For the coordinator of the sexual diversity and gender department, Gabriela Borja, the conference is a decisive moment to hear the demands of representatives from the community in different locations.
“Holding this event, bringing together representatives from the community of Pará and other States in Brazil, represents a significant advance. It is the moment when the LGBTQIA+ population will present their main agendas to the authorities. All of this will be forwarded to the National Conference, which has been suspended since 2018 and will be held from October 21 to 25 this year, in Brasília/DF.”

Program
The first day of the Conference will start at 8 am on June 27, with registration and a cultural welcome, followed by the opening session at 9 am. Soon after, the first keynote lecture will take place at 10:30 am, addressing the theme "LGBTQIA+ Rights in Brazil: Advances, setbacks, and resistances," providing an overview of the national situation. The morning will conclude with the approval of the internal regulations.
In the afternoon, discussions will resume with Panel 1 at 2 pm, focused on public policies aimed at the community, with the participation of representatives from the health, education, social assistance, and public security secretariats, as well as the state council for sexual diversity (CEDS). Following that, a roundtable discussion will provide an exchange of experiences in activism and militancy in the territories, with indigenous, black, trans, peripheral, and terreiro leaders.
On the second day, June 28, the event will open at 9 am with Panel 2 titled "Employability and LGBTQIA+ Economy," bringing a debate on the inclusion of this population in work, entrepreneurship, and combating discrimination. From 10:30 am, participants will divide into Working Groups (GTs), chosen at the time of registration, to deepen discussions in specific areas. There will be four GTs: education and diversity in schools; comprehensive health; entrepreneurship and culture; violence and security.
After lunch, at 2 pm, the GTs Plenary will take place, where the proposals developed in the groups will be presented. The focal point will be the Final Plenary at 4:30 pm, with the reading and approval of the final document – a letter of proposals and a motion – and the election of representatives for the national conference, followed by the closing with a cultural event at 6 pm.
