Cidadania Stations Expand and Facilitate Access for Pará Residents to Public Services

Facilities concentrate public services in a single location, making daily life easier for citizens

Having access to various public services in a single location is a reality for Pará citizens. Matheus Freire, 30 years old, is one of them and states that the difference of the Cidadania Stations is precisely to ensure good service quickly and accessibly.

Matheus was served at the Shopping Metrópole unit. He reported that, in a short time, he managed to resolve all his demands. “I took less than an hour to leave with my new identity in hand. I needed to update the document, scheduled it online for the next day, and was served quickly. Besides the issuance of the ID, I was also able to renew my driver's license and half-fare ticket through the Cidadania Station,” said the young man.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Cidadania Stations in Pará recorded over 140,000 services, strengthening the expansion and ease of access to services in various regions of Pará. Currently, the State Secretariat for Planning and Administration (Seplad) is responsible for 11 Cidadania stations, with two, in Santarém and Belém, in the Guamá neighborhood, under construction. During the works, the Cidadania Station in Santarém is operating at the top of the city's Hydroviary Terminal, located at Rua Araguarina, s/n, in the Prainha neighborhood.

"Thinking of a place that centralizes various agencies and allows the population to resolve pending issues quickly and comfortably is essential, which is why the Government of Pará works to increasingly expand the number of Cidadania Stations in our State. In a single location, they can find different services from municipal, state, and federal spheres. With the decentralization of public services, the government reaffirms its commitment to serve efficiently and accessibly to the population of all regions of the State," emphasizes Kleber Lara, General Coordinator of the Cidadania Stations.

In the Guajará Integration Region, the Cidadania Stations at Shopping Bosque Grão Pará, Shopping Pátio Belém, Icoaraci District, São Brás neighborhood, and Shopping Metrópole in Ananindeua are in operation. Other units are also functioning in Marabá, Parauapebas, Tucuruí, Itaituba, and Santarém. During the modernization works, the Santarém unit, on Rui Barbosa Avenue, in the Prainha neighborhood, is operating in the building of the municipality's Hydroviary Terminal.

Services Available at Cidadania Stations
The Cidadania Stations gather services from various agencies, such as identity card issuance (Civil Police); first registration, category change, and property transfer (Detran); unemployment insurance, job registration, and referral to the Labor Market (Secretariat of Social Assistance, Labor, Employment, and Income - Seaster); inclusion of insured holders and dependents, information about the Plan and Accredited Network, and Release of Health Procedures (Iasep) and process consultation and legal guidance (Public Defender), among others.

In Belém, the Cidadania Station at Chapéu do Barata was inaugurated in October 2024, at the Magalhães Barata Memorial, in the São Brás neighborhood, in Belém, and offers various services; in addition, it has a space for memory and culture, integrating history and modernity.

“The reconstruction carried out by the State Secretariat of Culture of Pará, Secult, with resources of about R$ 3.5 million, allowed the Chapéu do Barata monument, such a symbolic equipment for the city's heritage, to be returned to the population. It was a facility that had been out of use for years and without reconstruction for over 30 years. Now, as a Cidadania Station, it is a space providing various services, but also a space of memory,” points out Ursula Vidal, head of Secult.
